6 speed swapping my Jetta (gen3/nonMQB/1.8/TS) (about 300whp right now) blew my second 5 speed this year... Lol I bought a 1300 SBC clutch for my 5 speed but they aren't compatible between the 2 clutches(resold for 500$ thank God) Found this XTD clutch on Amazon for under 200$ and decided to roll the dice. This video definitely bolsters my confidence!!
Just to let ya know I put a stock xtd clutch in my 2001 jetta tdi it oem HD an the pressure plate busted in half in 6 months at 4500 miles I expected a lot longer life out of it but probably a defect I changed a lot of clutch in my day an this is a first an the car is a daily driver back an forth to work no abuse at all normally driven never abused an this happened
That definitely sucks to hear man I totally understand I honestly think it might have been more of a defect issue which can definitely happen even with the best of the companies just sucks you had to go through that hopefully you got it all figured out.
ABSOLUTELY IVE RUN THEM IN ALL MY BUILT MINIS ! BUT YOU NEEEEEEED TO GET OEM THROW OUT BEARING AND CANNOT run a dmfw , YOU MUST run a solid 1x piece flywheel Mine have last numerous years ( until i sold cars ) and theyve held 2-3x the oem power the car was built from factory with.. my r53 was 300+hp and stock are 172hp lolol the xtd stage 2x and i had a atafe 3x on my other r53 , theyre great. Im running a atafe 3x in my r58 jcw rite now actually
I bought one in 2012 the clutch kit for a d series stage 4 drove the car for 2 years judt fune and sold the car to dome young kid and destroyed the clutch less than a month
I just bought a xtd stage 1 organic clutch and lightweight flywheel kit, it says that it fits a 97 civic but I’m not too sure anyone have any feedback with that style clutch from xtd?
@@ed_gamer8949 honestly I just got my ecu back from hondata and i will be tuning the car this week so I still haven't tried the new clutch! Along with several other parts, some eBay and some name brand parts so im hoping everything goes well
im thinking to buy an stage 2 with light flywheel for a newedge mustang full bolts on ... like 370-400 hp... do you think the clutch will be good or i should buy another brand???
I myself have never used the Stage 5 but I had a few friends that used a Stage 5 and their turbocharged Del Sol and a few other turbocharged Hondas and we're very happy with the results.
That definitely sounds like either incorrect install or possibly your fulcrum ball if your transmission has one or throw out bearing is having issues possibly other things. I wouldn't think you got a defective clutch I have not had that happen to me but definitely could happen every now and then problems like that can happen.
BEWARE. Mine exploded because they drilled the underside of the pressure plate to balance it and aimco clutch would not respond to my warranty claim. Absolute rubbish!
Hey definitely sorry about your experience man I probably had 10 plus of them and never had one problem that definitely sucks to hear about that hopefully in the end they took care of you or you found a clutch kit that worked for you from another brand.
@junaidjunu1879 well It good in rsx grabbed great. But after 1yr 12k mi throw out bearing went out. So it didn't last very long. Clutch still had some life left but went ahead and put exedy clutch in oem. See if lasts longer. Doesn't grab like xtd though
With xtd pressure plates it's surprisingly not that bad they still hold up very good under a load but the pedal feedback is not terrible at all you'll be really surprised.
On this very clutch, I did not have much time on it, but I've had several XTD clutches and quite a lot of hours, and Miles put on them in several different cars and not once had a problem.
SUBBED! thanks I'm on a budget for a project right now and this is EXACTLY the information i needed ! Appreciate your videos keep it up!
awesome good things to hear waiting for mine to show up for my crv, im swaping it to manual

I've had several of the stage 1 for different vehicles, and they've all been great.
Is the stage 2 smooth and good for daily driving?
Very!
I just installed a stage 4 in my k20a3 ep3 with boost last night and I'm hoping everything holds up well 🙏 thanks for the info
how did it work for you

hey man, i"m in the same spot. can u tell me hows everything is holding up? clutch wise lol
How was the clutch holding up?

I would probably go with a stage 3 at that point just to be safe, but I've never had any issues with them on any car.
Thanks for the info. This was a great video brother👌👏
Awesome I'm glad to hear it could help!
Hi tom im interested in the xtd stage 5 have you used one any news will be appreciated very much 😊

Just finished the 500 breaking and wont engage after 6k or High RPM. Helo pls

Just bought a stage 2 for my fa5 k24a
How is it
Yeah any update? I just installed one on my k24a1 dc5 n I’m still in the break in process
How's it going? I'm to order one
@@vtec3070 mines holding up very nice, broke it in for about 400 miles and then gradually eased into ripping on it and it feels great!
@@kdog6793 still hold up bro? Any chatter ?
Would xtd stage 2 clutch be ok in rsx with k24a2 tsx swap?
Should work just fine and give you no problem as long as you do everything you need to do right when installing it.
@@crv_tom great thanks for info

How is the stage 3 for daily?
Not bad at all, still holds up great to this day!
@@crv_tom but im saying how is the pedal? Hard?
Stage 3 typically has more clamping force so the pedal will be much stiffer than oem.

@@crv_tom I just finish the breaking period clutch work fine on low rpm but at 7krpm won't engage to the next gear😢😢
