Thank you for doing the math on this because I just found out my planner that I will be getting in for 2025 is an A5 sizing and I was gonna get the A6 model but now that I found out I can bring over that pdf from like app box then it would be a lot more beneficial to have that matching size 🤔 but I was hoping to go for the nomad size in hoping I would use it more as it's a little easier to bring but I guess that's just something I am gonna have to develop and overcome if I actually want to integrate this and use it to be able to help better guide my productivity flow or really give me a better structure to it since I struggle in all honesty so it seems like A5 is the way for me 🥹 I am sure once I get it and start to use it I will be glad I settled on the bigger size especially since I am planning to use it in tandem with the planner I got coming in.
If it's going to be your first then the a5 is a good choice, the Nomad i normally reccomend as a second device unless you just really need something small. The 10.65inch screen on the Manta is great
@@VladimirKostek Thank you! I agree with you and I believe for the first tablet I think the A5 is good as well and if I really have a specific use case for the nomad that something small I can get it then. The Manta is what I decided on :) I look forward to you reviewing it but I been thinking about supernote for about half a year now and figured if I had it and invested in it instead of debating on it I'd probably be a lot closer to achieving my goal ha ha but it's never too late 🥹 so I can get the Supernote now
Great video. I really hope they go the full and keyboard folio routes. It would round out the "For Those Who Write" vibe, especially since they are the only device to let you natively create Word Document outside of the app. I also think they would be wise to price less than the ViWoods, even if it lowers margin, to sell more units.
It really is better to use a mechanical keyboard and connect it to the Supernote through the USB-C port. Nothing replaces the feel and elegance of a mechanical keyboard.
@@JMaxwell1000 thanks for sharing. I like the demos of what I have seen of the Remarkable typefolio. The pogo pins should be a much better connection than Bluetooth.
@@VladimirKostek I agree and worry that there may not be enough value at that price point for the 10.3" model, but I could be wrong. I am working may way through Voya's in-depth review of it and am so glad he went old school MDG. His and Kit's reviews of the Supernote, Boox, and reMarkable, are why I chose the Supernote back in 2020.
Wow, you squeezed a whole lot more out of that lemon and have given us allot to think about, I'm just hoping the _writing feel_ is similar as can be to the A5X.
My A6X2 Nomad, which arrived yesterday, doesn't have a white surround like yours. Mine is a light grey, so maybe they have changed it, so it easier to manufacture along with A5X2?
From my own experience, it's better to use a mechanical keyboard and hook it up to the Supernote via the USB-C port. It works brilliantly. Thanks for these important updates!
That's a great question. In general, they do not, but it largely depends on the keyboard. I haven't tried the SN with my Steelseries yet because it's hooked up to my Mac, but several of the embedded keys on the HHKBs did not work initially. Then with the latest SN firmware update, they suddenly did, but I have no idea why. I plan to test out the Omnipoint on the SN soon. Mechanical keyboards are really the bee's knees :)
I am 100% on board with the plastic case, plastic screen decision. Aluminum and glass are not things I want on a device I carry and hold in front of me unless it's small. And a glass screen is just asking for trouble. And the lack of magnets... Makes sense and, on the end, sometimes simpler is better.
Yea for something that is a utility device, we all know how notebooks get thrown around in a bag etc. I think it fits the needs well with the material choices.
My guess would be no, and if they do make one I don't think it would come out for a while. The clear back is susceptible to scratches which does not bode well for a half folio design. It works well on the Nomad because of the full folio.
Folio keyboard: 1. I was thinking maybe the delays have to do with getting the folio keyboard right (I'm probably wrong). 2. I wish these devices could do portrait as well as landscape. If it is "for writers," that would suggest portrait mode. But it doesn't sound like they are going to support that.
Yea portrait would be cool for a type folio design, at least on the Supernote platform you can use it in portrait like I did here ua-cam.com/video/Pl0077yaloA/v-deo.htmlsi=63BsBeop61FnbzoM&t=1005
