I can't believe this is an actual band, I must have first heard this joke song 25 years ago, and apparently I get the chance to see them live in a little over a month.
Last time i saw them live must be 1993/1994. A few concerts pure fun :) Anywhere i still got 1 Concert on a VHS-C Tape. i should upload it :) Great Band, awesome song !!!
Just heard his song, searching for about 3-4 hours :D only remembered the "NEVER,EVER TRUST ..." but then nothing in my memory ... SOOOO HAPPY TO HEAR THIS AGAIN ! It was a Great Time back there in the 90's ... THANKS FOR POSTING IT !!!!
Ich liebe dieses Lied von der Band und ich liebe diese Band weil ich mit der Band aufgewachsen bin und es immer noch schön ihre Lieder zu hören da kommen viele schöne Erinnerung zurück 🔙 😘😍
Judging by the lyrics and the band's general aesthetic, I'd say this is based off of Original Series Klingons (rather than Next-generation era Klingons). The idea of an honor driven society wasn't introduced until TNG. In TOS, they really were untrustworthy bastards.
This girl I know said she loves the band Swedish House Mafia, and I replyed with "Let me show you a real good Swedish band." I then showed her this song by S.P.O.C.K. She didn't like it, and that's when I knew that my age group is dead to music.
true artistical expression does not need extreme skill or perfection… I love this just as much as Miss Kitten singing for example or some of the male vocals on Nightwishs first album - very relatable and inspiring :)
Years ago I was looking through the Mod Archive and came across several tracker music files with the name or title "Never Trust A Klingon" and I never knew it was an actual song until I found this, but the first time I played it I didn't think I liked it, but after hearing it a few times, I actually quite like it.
I've seen them a number of times. First was in -97 or -98 in Umeå. Last time was Amphi in -22 when they were the opening band. I even got a chance to chat with them. I guess my Star Trek costume helped a bit there ;)
Because the Company behind the Star Trek license hated the band and it was impossible to promote it in the US. Until Napster there never were any place for them, also during their glory-days the grunge held U.S.A in a death-grip.
Am I the only one missing Kirk, McCoy, Spock and the rest of the crew? I get, sure, The Original Series might be little cringey today... But not for me. I just love TOS - it had this kind of magic for me. Love all Trek series, but TOS is my favourite...
Your other comment, to which I replied earlier, was dated 1 year ago. This one is dated 2 years ago. I am not sure that is logical. Perhaps *you* are a changeling? Confusing!
I was introduce to SPOCK in 1996 by a Swedish girl called Linda when I was living in London, Linda if you ever find this note PLEASE write me back. You know who I am.
actually the Federation benefitted greatly from trusting the Klingons after the Kithomer Accords, standing true to the federation ideal, that cooperation is the better strategy. While Klingon society remained largely unchanged by the influx of memes from the Federation, they nevertheless stood by the agreements most of the time applying their culturally deeply rooted belives in honor to protect the alliance. There is strength in diversity.
Hey buddy thanks for the info but not the Mentalshiver girl, we were 19 at the time in 1996 so she might be around 36 today probably married with kids but I'd love to know how she is doing.
This was obviously Starfleet propaganda. Demonize the enemy. Yes, the Federation would like you to believe they were above such tactics, but in times of war neither side's version of 'honor' apply.
My neighbor called Section 31 on me for playing this music loud. They arrested him.
good riddance 👏 they don't call it on the rappers and drug dealers so why they wanna bang on this
Best commentary ever!
Yes man 😂❤
lol and germans have no humor....
xD

Oh man where at??
The song is composed of...9, 10 different sounds? So minimalistic, yet dancable. Pure genius.
What a fascinating band, glad I discovered them! Had to travel some light years to arrive here.
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: ua-cam.com/video/tdm98mA3-7A/v-deo.html Very well done!
no prob been here since they started. but i am glad you arrived.
Been here since 2000. Happy to have you!
Last time i saw them live must be 1993/1994. A few concerts pure fun :) Anywhere i still got 1 Concert on a VHS-C Tape. i should upload it :) Great Band, awesome song !!!
Why isnt it uploadet until now? :D
upload!
You should - you must! *obey* I saw them live in 1998 and then 2003 again. Give us that experience...here and now. Thanks!!!

And then they became orcs. But previously
Those honor obsesses TNG klingons are even worse! You can't trust such people...
Just have too... You know it is fantasy right?
For sure!
TOS is the main inspiration for most of their songs, yes
One of the most danceable songs ever!
And it's true! 🖖
Only if you're gay
I will ask the DJs to play this tonight at the club (-:
First: R.I.P. Nimoy never forget! Der Song und die Band war und ist einzigartig in Ihrer Art! :-)
+Chris B Dank an euch!

Dann pack noch OKAY - O.K. dazu 😄
Yeah, I trusted a Klingon, and what did I get for my trouble? A plate of live Gacch!
I bet you still haven't forgotten it. You never will.
This girl I know said she loves the band Swedish House Mafia, and I replyed with "Let me show you a real good Swedish band." I then showed her this song by S.P.O.C.K.

Salem Sunset Hon sa:
"Lägg av"
Hon sa:
"Äh, stäng av"
Hon sa:
"Det här är inte bra"
You just met the wrong gal, that's all.
It doesn't matter .S.p.o.c.k are living legends.
The synth programming is on point, but dear god, the singing...
true artistical expression does not need extreme skill or perfection… I love this just as much as Miss Kitten singing for example or some of the male vocals on Nightwishs first album - very relatable and inspiring :)

why did s.p.o.c.k never become more successful in the usa, who are crazy in star trek?
Because the Company behind the Star Trek license hated the band and it was impossible to promote it in the US. Until Napster there never were any place for them, also during their glory-days the grunge held U.S.A in a death-grip.
Klassiker!
Die EP CD war schwer zu bekommen...
Da waren doch noch 2 andere Songs auf der CD.
Am I the only one missing Kirk, McCoy, Spock and the rest of the crew?

Not just you, I do too, they were brilliant, Star Trek gave science fiction a charm unlike anything else in my opinion.
Einer meiner liebsten songs!
never trust a klingon, even if you are in the Ruskin Arms in East Ham and a klingon warrior and his woman buys you a pint of cider
fantastic, this is the kinda weirdness, oddness, bizarreness i love in the tunes, this one is more melodic futurepop, AWESOME
The vocalist sounds like Captain Zulu.
Meine Anfangszeiten.......Herrlich
Super!!!!!
Especially if they are actually a changeling!
Your other comment, to which I replied earlier, was dated 1 year ago. This one is dated 2 years ago. I am not sure that is logical. Perhaps *you* are a changeling? Confusing!

What does Cptn Kirk have in common with a roll of toiletpaper?
They both go round uranus looking for klingons...
lol im a star wars guy but this is so great
At one point, somewhere, these worlds intersect! ;)
You just can't trust them...
What do the guys from the band Stovokor say abouth S.P.O.C.K.'s singing?
Klingons don't go to the disco.
Well I will never forget the day I trusted a Klingon... Was the worst decision of my life.
+mlk22 Clearly you have never forgotten it. I suspect you never will.
Fan inte igår detta :D
I never did trust Worf, all that much, in that James Brown wig of his, or, that silver purse strap that he always wore. I think he was hot for Picard.
Very fresh!
