@@dori_casper I really want to see this, link cooks a meal for Rhett on mythical kitchen, especially if the crew are there to help but can only do what Link tells them to.
I find Rhett discovering frozen food hilarious. I'm disabled and have issues with mobility and chronic fatigue so I live on frozen food and it's gotten really good in recent years. Not good homemade good but waaaaaaaay better than what I could manage by myself during a flare.
A couple brands, I think, are pretty equivalent to homemade. Amy's meals are really good. I practically live on them as of recent, along with a few other brands. After cooking for mostly just myself for over 20 years I got tired of it and at the end of the day when I'm tired n done with work the last thing I feel like doing is cooking. If you haven't tired Amy's meals you should. The pizzas are good too. It's all vegetarian and some vegan. The cheese enchiladas are my favorite. The enchilada sauce is equivalent to what it tastes like at a Mexican restaurant in my opinion.
Same! I've always done frozen veggies, but leaned way more into it as my disabilities worsened. I don't have the spoons for preparing from fresh, every day. And fresh veg goes bad very fast!
I cant believe Rhett is just now discovering frozen food. One of four children, parents work full time jobs that end around 6pm, all of these (especially the Texas toast) are staples! 😂
$4 for a steamable bag of pre-seasoned broccoli is kinda bougie…but he ain’t lying! It’s delicious and definitely better than doing the work yourself! 😅
Even if he didn’t grow up with parents who cooked a lot of frozen foods, you would think that he may have had some as a college student. But he acts like he never walked down a frozen foods aisle until his 40s. Lol. 😂 Gotta love him.
No lie, I really love Sporked! I think its a great concept and I've actually found several tasty things that I never would have tried before! I hope it sticks around 😊
Sometimes I think one of them just comes up with a bit that they want to hold onto for the whole episode and they just improv everything around that bit. Today Rhett decided his bit was "Link should get more frozen foods" and it doesn't matter what happens in the episode, he'll bring it back to that bit.
The way Rhett described finding the frozen section is how I felt about Trader Joe’s. Being a native Californian, I took it for granted. Moving away made me appreciate the wonder that is Trader Joe’s
For those who like a little more challenge: there are reuseable silicone steamer bags, you can either create your own veggie mix or buy bigger bags of seasoned frozen veggie mixes and re-fill the steamer bags. ❤️
To weigh in on the "slanging dope" tense issues, it's past continuous. Essentially something someone used to frequently in the past without using an adverb of time to modify it.
Another great taste test ranking! FYI Rhett, Stater Bros is not a ski town store 😂it’s a “small grocer” from the inland empire with 170 stores so it’s not a huge conglomerate that’s in every town. The NY Texas Toast is super imo, tho the 5 cheese isn’t the first I grab 😅
literally grew up on hamburger helper n frozen foods like lasagna, n Salisbury steaks lmaooo just an everyday experience for me first 15yrs of my life 😚🤌
Fun fact, the first date my mom and dad went on, my dad “cooked” dinner for my mom. It was a frozen oven lasagna that he plated to look like he made it. He would have got away with it, if the box wasn’t in the trash 😂
Yep on the steamers, just had broccoli and cauliflower. Brussels Sprouts are great too. If you want to make your family happy serve them freezer foods, never been said since the 50's.
I love the Texas Garlic Cheese Toast, but my momma makes the best garlic bread in the world whenever she makes pasta. It's so simple, but it's amazing.
Yep, me too. I throw some other things together here n there but after more than 20 years of cooking, and a majority of them just for myself. I'm over it. Especially when I'm tired after work. Cooking is the last thing I want to do. As far as I go is throwing something in the oven on the days I work, but most days it's the microwave.
Most of us Mythical Beasts are typical middle class, we LIVE in the frozen section, Rhett's amazement at this new discovery is like he just came from Alpha Centauri~!! 👽
OH! Video idea! Dedicated several Mythical Kitchen episodes to Josh teaching the guys how to prepare meal courses and then do a full GMM episode as a Cooking Battle. Sorted Foods meets Top Chef. Link needs to be taught!
I worked at a Pepperidge Farm outlet store for a few years, so I was able to try just about everything they make. And they really don't make a bad product, it's all delicious.
I love rhett encouraging link to cook frozen foods and impress his family LOL
Yeah weaponized incompetence is so sexy. He's 40 with kids and can't cook. Christie has 4 kids.
Honestly, a tray of Stouffer's frozen lasagna hits the spot and would probably earn him a few "thanks for dinner, dad" hugs
That stuff is nasty lol

Imagine Josh trying to teach Link to cook frozen foods.

I feel like they did that during the pandemic
I think Rhett just really wants Link to cook a meal for him

Yes! I’d love to see them each cook a meal for each other.
First beans in the vlog, now a full blown meal!!!

Rhett is just now discovering the food I grew up on lmao
he mentioned that they grew up on it too or at least were aware of it but that frozen food stepped up their game
He grew up well-to-do with a stay at home mother. now he's rich so it's taken him awhile.
The look Rhett gave when Trevor said “Again, I didn’t do it.” 🤨🤨😂😂😂

Trev getting to big for his britches you know

Cd
The fact that they literally have a format dedicated to showing how potentially good frozen food is makes Rhett’s discovery shocking
Was thinking this exact thing too lol
tbf it’s being directly compared to restaurant meals
We need an episode where we watch rhett guide link thru the frozen section and then they go cook a meal.
No lie, That 5 cheese Texas Toast is 🔥🔥. We used to get it all the time growing up.
It really is!
Link: what is a baking sheet? That question frightened me. His family needs to continue to feed him 😂
Thank you, it's so concerning
Like man I thought I was inept at food prep, hearing some of this makes me feel like I'm downright competent
I'm NOT downright competent!!
Frozen side dishes have been a family favorite in our house since I was born. Texas toast is my jam with some marinara
