  • We've come to the point where we're starting to put things in the rack. Doing the actual rack and stack can be grueling, but doing rack and stack with NetBox is a lot of fun. And we promise you - there will be no sweating or bent fingernails!

    Comment about rack numbering. The reason for numbering from the bottom up is that in a central office or pop site, not all the racks are the same height. If you start from the bottom then you don't have to worry about rack unit 1 turning up at different heights. It makes life a WHOLE lot easier......

    Manufacturers sometimes make it really difficult to get your hands in there to pull out the actual cable once it installed.

    Example of components being different than template. 24P Keystone Patch Pannel. You can always remove a keystone and replace it with an hdmi, usb, whatever. Or perhaps you punched port 24 of your regular patch panel with crossover for your server. Or punched 23 and 24 together to be a straight-through jump. or 23-24 together A-B to be an instant crossover since you always lose those.
