Thank you for your services I’m a witness that not all officers (whites) are bad!! They really do feed you, cause one fed me at a fancy restaurant on his way to take me juvenile detention center, one stopped me a gave me a ticket lol for my 1year old not having a car seat but also told me to follow him to Walmart so he can get my baby a car seat, one bought me underwear, socks, and t shirts when I had to spend 15 days in the county jail…. There really are some great heros on the force…. I was a juvenile delinquent during my youth and it was the white community who saved my life !!!

I love how Steve said this isn’t a story about color. It’s about good people stepping up and giving this boy some help, when he didn’t even ask for it. This story is just amazing. This kid and how you can tell his heart is pure, the people who stepped up and helped him are awesome. Ughh love it

I’m not even religious and I love it nothing like a man or woman that speaks from their heart so passionately that you can just see clear as day that they are a truly honest and grateful person. It’s very inspiring and brings meaning even beyond the gospel itself. Steve will always be one of my favorite people for that.

I wish it could be like that for everybody. That's one of many, many things I admire about the black community, the personal connection with God, its just on a different level. I know plenty of white people who go to church, who lead service, but its not the same. It just feels different like there should be more. I think that's one of the reasons I enjoy listening to Steve speak, because he's so open it's not preachy, its just his love of God in its purest form.

He did say that he started walking from 11:30 pm the night before so the police did give him a ride for the few miles left but I feel like he would have made it there still with his determination but just maybe at like 7:30 -8am instead of 6am

Just for clarification, I don't think the police officer gave him a ride. A friend of the officer that knew him came and gave him a ride the rest of the way. The officer was great to check how he was doing and call a friend to give him a ride though.

I could not afford a car until I was in my late 20s. I used waitress tips for driving lessons. I had to walk for over 4 hours a day to work, grocery shop. When you need to survive, you just do it.

In 1980, my husband and I moved to Metairie, Louisiana. My husband worked at Burger King. Our car was damaged in the flood that year. He had to walk to work. We were in a city where the KKK posted flyers about meetings at the junior high. One night, a policeman stopped him and talked to him. He found out that I was having a difficult pregnancy and was at our apartment waiting for him. The officer told him about the KKK meetings and each night they would drive behind him while he walked to make sure he got to me safely.
This young man carries greatness in him.

What's everyone making such a big deal over this. I got a testimony for over 34 years. Of daily things that I've experienced in my life that is similar. I have never had anyone give me anything in my life . Especially for just one good day deed. It's great for other people to step up and show their strength of love but I scraped up pennies the day I graduated high school to put gas in my vehicle and I've earned my way through life. I'm proud of my testimony so I have it to share with so many people who God will someday give me that opportunity to be heard in front of a large audience and I will certainly deliver. I have not a one day story to shared but a 34 year story to share. God Bless

people who say they gave him to much it could be a car and thats it. This man started walking 10 pm for to work in the morning 20 miles. He did something no one just does in this time. And he got the rewards just because he did it. Good came to his path from almighty God because he sees everything and hears everything
I've walked 2 miles to work each morning.... I've previously walked 8 miles to and work as well as work 10 hours. I've sacrificed to help my best friend, family etc ... I know I'm strong enough even though I'm still without a vehicle today... But soon I will. I love watching similar stories. I'm reminded everyday that with a hard-working mentality, success is guaranteed.

Fr bro I'm 19 too and man this had me crying for a minute man like idk man this makes me think of God so much it makes me really grateful for him and it's crazy what he did for this guy but I'm glad sure helped him out on his darkest of days hopefully no more to come.
