All I do is bog trapping. It felt good to see someone else acknowledge the struggle. Thanks brother.

My beaver trapping mentor told me when I was in middle school “son, there’s two types of beaver that you will chase in your life - northern and southern beaver. You can eat both of them but southern beaver tastes a hell of a lot better” 😂 true story!

I boxed for many many years here in Chicagoland!!!! One of the best lessons I took away from all that was that you learn way more from the difficult fights that you loose vs the one's you easily win. I like seeing the difficult trapping as much if not more than the easy trapping - Once again you put more tools in our trapping packs!!!!!

I also hate bog beaver houses. I’m trapping 11 beaver houses on a 300 acre lake. Everyone of them sit on a bog. I’m waiting for safe ice hopefully in February here in Michigan. Keep rocking it Scott

Every video with snow has hundreds of tracks of animals checking out the beaver lodges and just running about the edges or going across the lake. What is running around so much? I can make out deer, but what are the others? Foxes, coyotes? Just so many tracks!

Looks tough, but are those dog,fox or coyote tracks all over?
    Keep up the good work.

I’ve been reading a lot more about traps ever since I saw two on a dried up cattail pond in western MN. What are the chances a dog surviving if caught in one of those beaver trap? The two I saw were set up similar to what you did there. The beaver dam was broken down and pond dried up so the traps must have been there for years.

Hey Scott. Are those Bob Cat tracks around that bank line? I watched a video a few minutes ago and this guy was puting bait boxes around beaver dens and various places and he was using traps like you use only they were 220 size and the trap sat in the opening of the box. Bait sits in the back so everything was a head on catch.
I was just wondering if you ever thought abot trapping Bob Cats up there? I bet their furs sell OK.

Honestly it's easier than it looks, it's all about using leverage of your body

Great video Scott! Would `H`stands work in stead of poles? Also your swivel stick, more to fence the beaver or prevent 330 from moving? Working the coyote bait stations and a few marten sets up here in Manitoba. Cheers!!

Do you eat the beaver liver? Apparently it's full of iron.

Beavers are such smart builders but, not so smart when there’s human activity right at their lodge. That pays off for Scott…😅
