Carved my first pumpkin with this video. Much easier than expected. Thank you❤🎉
Thank You! Your information is extremely helpful! Such a marvelous help to me! Perfect timing.
What a great video! I hate throwing away pumpkins every year!
i tried so many pumpkin recipes and the best one was to cook the pieces with garlic and mint and at the end alittle bit lemon salt and salt. it`s the most delicious. Many people don`t know it. hardly to find that recipe.
Wonderful wonderful video! Love everything about this video. thank you for sharing.
This was such a great video tutorial on pumpkins! My nurse and I are carving fresh pumpkins for the first time in years!
Great video. I love your recipes as well as the draining tip. Can I ask you what brand food processor that is? I like how it operates from the top.
I'm glad you liked the video :) My food processor is the 7-in-1 from Breville. I've had it for 8 years now and it still works perfectly.
@@Greenhealthycooking I was just about to ask the same thing lol
Thank you. 😊
Great pumpkin recipe😍👍👌
Thank You for your very helpful video. I am pureeing baby food and needed to know if I was doing this incorrectly lol. I was.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom on how to eat a pumpkin! Kudos and love your energy! It is infectious! =-D
Very helpful and yummy, nicely explained :) Thank you Lorena!
This was super helpful! Thankyou so much 😄
I really like the recipe. Thanks for sharing

Pumpkin curry .. got to try this!
Thanks.
A must try. 💞
Great video, great lady, great tips, thank you ❤️
It's much simpler to Puree' the Pumpkin with the Skins.
If it does make it Bitter I cannot tell. Sugar can counter act that anyway.
Love your tut but I have 1 question. Namely, can I use this "oven method" and then refrigerate such pumpkins ? I usually refrigerate pumpkins but never used oven before doing that, I'm wondering whether it will affect how they taste afterwards ? I use them mostly for soups.
You mean roast them and then store leftovers in the fridge? Yes of course you can. They do get mushy in the fridge but if you plan on using them in soups that's not really a problem.
Thanks. Yes, I meant that easy/lazy way 🙂to get rid of that skin. Would you say roasting makes it more mushy compared to just refrigerating it (no roasting involved) ? @@Greenhealthycooking
@@nightrider3558 I'm still a little confused with your question. I've never heard of refrigerating raw pumpkin helping to remove skin. Is that what you're asking?
I'm sorry for that let me explain, I use freezer to store raw pumpkins ( the ones I peeled with a knife, no roasting) Now, I was wondering whether roasting the pumpkin first, removing skin and finally refrigerating it makes it more mushy than say just peeling it and refrigerating it. Consistency is what I'm asking about. @@Greenhealthycooking
@@nightrider3558 oh, you mean the freezer, not the refrigerator then. I've never frozen raw vegetables before. As far as I know you're not supposed to freeze raw vegetables and they should at least be blanched before freezing but maybe I'm mistaken. I'm sorry I can't be of any help to you here.
This saved my day, thank you!!
Such an awesome and informative video!! Love it and will be using it tonight ! Thanks !!
do you eat seeds too¿¿ we eat dry them and put some salt and of course chili powder jajaja.. delicious!
Thank you, I needed to k ow how to cut pumpkins for so long lol
Great video!!! I'm excited to watch your other uploads!
fantastic ! nice one thanks for the explanations
I just love your style of cooking and your easy, helpful presentations of it!!!! Thank you Lorena! Very happy to have found your channel!
Neat. What a life-saver! PS My precious little fingers survived. Yay!
Thank you♥️
The 3rd and 4rh are great
Thank you
I cut pumpkin today. Just from one side little bit. How long it stays good 'outside' with some parts chopped out.
Once you cut it up you have to place it in the fridge in a sealed bag or container or else it starts rotting pretty quickly. You may be able to keep it uncooked in the fridge for about 5 days. I recommend cooking/roasting all of it right away and then storing cooked either in the fridge or freezer.
Honestly i think you can just cut it horizontally if you want. However you do it, I find it easy if you use the 90° corner of the knife (the end of the knife closer to you, not the pointy end. Jam the knife in at an angle by holding it where you want it with one hand and then hit the top (dull) side of the knife with your other hand, then pick it up and slam it a few times against the cutting board. This works best with a heavy knife, such as a cleaver, butcher knife, or if you’re like me, good ole Asian kitchen knife, the only knife you’ll ever need. You can also cut into the stem as close to the pumpkin as possible (you only need to cut in a cm or so) and then pry against the pumpkin and the stem will pop right off, and from there you can attack it straight down the middle from the top.
good recipes
Thanks for sharing! Great advice!
You are a superstar! Thanks
Thank you so much for uploading!!
What is your food processor? Im trying to find a 10 cup one that can accommodate more food! Thanks!
Mine is the 7-in-1 from Breville. It's super old, so not sure if they're still selling it.
Video was AMAZING
Thank you! Now that thanksgiving is over, I have removed the real uncarved pumpkin's from my decor and will follow your steps to eat them all 😋. Btw, are you really half Peruvian?
Yes. I was born and raised in Germany but my mother is 100% Peruvian and raised me bilingual and bicultural :)
@@Greenhealthycooking How awesome!!! I am 100% peruvian and my husband is Caucasian. If we have a girl she will probably look as beautiful as you!
what is the name of the container where you put the baby food and where could I find it to buy some of them?
The brand of the jar is called "Weck" and you can find it at large kitchen stores or online.
Thank you lovely ☺️ that really helped
Thank you dear! Jesus loves you 😊
The pumpkin shown in your video is much larger then the mini "display" pumpkins that my Mother-In-Law gifted to me. To clarify they're real not made from plastic. Can I still cook with them? My Mother-in-law insisted they should only be displayed but I'd hate to waste pumpkin I'd rather have a food source over a display piece.
Usually any real pumpkin is fine for cooking and eating. I mean, you’ve got nothing to lose from trying, no? Either they rot uncooked at some point or they rot after cooking and realizing they’re no food, lol
These pumpkins have apples skin. We have pumpkins with skin thicker than pinneaple !
Shalom! I will be trying this with some pumpkins!
Once blanched or cooked, yes. You definitely have to at least have blanched it before freezing.
Thanks a lot

I've has enough now only done half of it
What about mirowave?
@@Greenhealthycooking thanks for answering I got and was able to peel it very tasty.
Microwaving your food depletes the nutritional value. It changes the chemical makeup of the food. Not healthy at all
Eu também fiz um vídeo com um jeito inédito de descascar abobora aqui no meu canal.
Lol where is this lady from? I'm usually good with accents but I'm stumped, it sounds like the amalgamation of 8 different countries! Great vid, im about to carve up our only pumpkin from this year for roasting. Say bye bye Tomothy the pumkin! 👋
Here you can read everything about me: greenhealthycooking.com/about-me/
It's not 8 countries but close, hahaha.
@@Greenhealthycooking wow thats a great blog Lorena! My wife is german so I benefit from their wonderful cuisine( I cook , Sandy..err..well Sandy can't cook..like at all🤣) I followed your method above and we enjoyed Tomothy our lone lil pumpkin very much so thank you. I did an 8 week online course on Nutrition and would highly recommend it if you have an interest(and the time). Very thorough and packed with great info. Wishing you and your family all the best in the future and keep up the great work ,people REALLY need to know about healthy eating!
Easier to remove seeds after it’s roasted
Well your pumpkin is a little softer than my pumpkin ( ・ั﹏・ั), we have pumpkins whose outer covers are hard as rock but once cook they are super soft and tasty.
I accidentally stabbed my gf when putting the pumpkin in the freezer. Instructions were unclear
Good demonstration, but showing your face a lot
I did that specifically for you because I knew it would bother you ;)
Great tutorial. I bought two huge pumpkins for Halloween and now making sure they do not go to waste. Your video was super helpful! Roasting pumpkins as I type and getting ready to puree the rest. Thank you.
