A quick question Captain, in some sources I’ve noticed that Delta FL is multiplied by 3 rather than divided, could you please advise which one is more accurate?
The milage factor is set by Airbus or actually is set more or less generically for a medium range jet aircraft of this size. It's based on the speed at which the aircraft has to decelerate from. For an aircraft to slow down from 270kts it is assumed it needs 7NM. If the speed is 250kts the aircraft requires 5NM to slow down.

I don't understand how you're calculating the mileage factor (+/-) based on the IAS. (270kts = 7nm)??
