Fun fact: Julia Savicheva ( 2004), Lena Temnikova (2007) and Polina Gagarina (2015) all rose to fame in 2003 after competing in the same season of the show ("Star Factory", or as other countries call it, "Star Academy", "Operacion Triunfo", etc.). Julia was 5th, Lena came 3rd, and Polina won.
"Mamo" is actually a very good song. If there hadn't been some problems with her voice during the performance in the grand final, I would have voted for her that night. And if you pay attention, you'll hear that the backing vocalist sings the same lyrics as the main singer always the same amount of time after her, like a perfect echo. That's extremely hard to do. It fits very well into the song's general atmosphere and with its lyrics: like an echo of regrets from the past, or a warning from the future.
Hey from David! Lol. Russian dancer 2000 ‘Solo’ As you look on the right.... Fun to hear the reactions! 20 years ago this week.... Wow! 🕺🏼🇷🇺 On insta - davidwooddance
12: Ne ver', ne boisia [2003] 10: Mamo [2009] 08: Song # 1 [2007] 07: Nobody Hurt No One [2005] 06: Believe Me [2004] 05: Solo [2000] 04: Northern Girl [2002] 03: Never Let You Go [2006] 02: Believe [2008] 01: Lady Alpine Blue [2001]
Maybe you will call me crazy but my fav one was 'Mamo'. It is so good song and I just loved it. You guys need to check the meaning of the song. Love from 🇦🇿
Russia is one of my favourite Eurovision countries, but I never liked their winning song! My favourite entries are 2007 (my second favourite Russian entry of all times), 2009 and 2006!
Not that much competition in those years and someone had to win. Dima was a strong performer like Ani Lorak. That brought them to the top in that year. Simple
Here is the time difference. 12 years old and people have a different opinion about this song. Previously, people really wanted her to win, but now they consider her the worst song. Personally, I like this song, it has a lot of meaning, and Dima himself performed it well.
I have usually the same taste as Stefan so I mostly agree with him in all reaction videos.... However, we have a complete different opinion about "Mamo" here 😂😂 And it surpriced me cause I expected him to love it too 😂

Love from 🇦🇿
mine too
Northern Girl is such a guilty pleasure! 😂
2001 was so underrated, he was at least not usual compared with other contestants
Mamo>Believe. End of conversation.
My favorites are "Ne Ver Ne Boysia" (the studio version), "Never Let You Go", and "Mamo".
Mamo was ICONIC!❤
no body:
joan: one of my favorite
Burak Keskin I love 99% of Eurovision songs 🥵
@@joan2088 i agree with you.. at least in that year it was one of my favourites!!😉
Russia is one of my favourite Eurovision countries, but I never liked their winning song! My favourite entries are 2007 (my second favourite Russian entry of all times), 2009 and 2006!
ALSOU. 2000. Solo.🔮💜🎶🤘
2000, 2005,2006 & 2009 were great entries from Russia.
And then there is me who thinks Mamo was among their best songs in the 00's. x'D
Thank you for cutting off Stefan. 3:)
"Mamo" was the best Russian entry from 00s. Period.
That was my favourite too.
Oh yes
Finally, thx for reactions guys ))
Diman was perfect in both years he represented russia
2001 sounds like they listen to a LOT of Santana XD
"I love Dima Bilan, who doesn't love Dima Bilan"
*Me* c:
hahaha to each their own! :)
Not sure whether this is an unpopular opinion or not, but Believe is one of the top 3 worst winners of the 2000s
Never let you go was a better entry and could have been a good winner in 2006. Believe wasn't a good winner...
Its not unpopular but i disagree
Hard agree, I think Ani Lorak's song holds up much better.
Never was much of a fun of Believe.
From my experience, great majority of Eurovision fans agree with you.
Thank you very much for your video ❤❤❤
My favorite was 2006
Believe is very underrated 😭😭
I agree. It's just that people no longer need songs with a strong meaning.
Still confused how Dima Bilan won in 2008. Worst winner after Azerbaijan 2011

For me 2007 was the best entry from Russia by far..they need to bring Serebro back for vengeance 👏🏻♥️
Russia was quite experimental during the first decade of the millenium before they went safe with their choice of entries for most of the 2010's.
My favorites are mamo and believe
My favorite songs of Russia 00's are Mamo, Solo and Believe .
I LOVE TATU, and their song on ESC!
I wish there'd be a pause between song playing and people's reaction. I can't hear what they're reacting to...
My top 3:
1. 2001
2. 2008
3. 2002
Nice reaction video :) the Spanish boy Joan ist the best part of these videos ;)
2001 so underrated😂
Agree
6:28 lol
I have usually the same taste as Stefan so I mostly agree with him in all reaction videos.... However, we have a complete different opinion about "Mamo" here 😂😂 And it surpriced me cause I expected him to love it too 😂
i mean 👉👈 my favourites were lady alpine blue and ne ver ne boisya ne prosi, so i guess i’ll just shut up from now on lmao
Agreed with your favourites
Northern Girl deserves TOP 3!!!!!
Freakin' finally!!
2000 - 2006 can probably be defined as mainly irrelevant songs, but every once in a while there's a good. one.
Dont care what anyone else says believe deserved to win
He deserved it with his actions.
He made people believe in him and vote for his song.
I do like Dima's song from 2006 better then his song from 2008. And Serebro from 2007 is freakin' awesome.
Loved mumyin troll
I only love 2000, 2005 and 2009
A decade of Malta any time soon? ✌😊
2001 is so weird.
Russia in the -00:s, there was some solid gold nuggets in there. In my opinion a lot better than Russia in the -10:s.
Can you do Armenia in 00’s plz 🙏🏼
First!
2003 best
I was born in russia and i hated mamo. My top 3 were alsou, lady alpine blue and serebro
