I love that you talked about The Bible today. I’ve read it and am now starting it a 2nd time. I find comfort and peace while reading it as well. I’m thankful for you both and pray you get all the rest you need and deserve. 🙏💖

Hope the days that follow you were and are able to find your rest Justin.
As you're well aware rest is important. Think of it as that day at the resort on your Disney trips, you have that down time for you to enjoy the rest of the trip. Have your guilt free rest to allow you to find joy in your life.

Yes! Literally regularly scheduling rest is just about the only thing that works (and it's a STRUGGLE). Believing that rest is good - that God intended for it. Even God rested when He created the world - not because it was necessary, but because rest is good. That's helped me shift away from the guilt feeling - focusing on how our want and need for rest reflects God's image. Resting doesn't indicate weakness or wastefulness. I've found if I don't rest even for 5-10 minutes every hour... by the end of the day I need a longer time to feel recovered.... it's kind of the same concept as a sleep deficit. If you only sleep 4-5 hours a night, one long nap or 12 hour sleep on the weekend doesn't really fix it. I think resting and restoring yourself is the same. If you go 2-3 days without really feeling like you take a breath, it'll just take a lot longer to wind down when you finally take a break. I learned that the hard way when we worked to create a 24 hour Sabbath, so to "fit it in" - I was going 100 mph the other 6 days... and finally realized I had to cut some stuff out and make some decisions so that the other 6 days didn't have as much "to do".
I feel you on the dairy! We discovered one of our kiddos had a cows milk allergy... so since I hated feeling like a JERK enjoying dairy in front of him, we mostly cut it out... and now years later he can tolerate a little more but now the rest of us are like GAAAHHHHHH what is happening to my body?!??! (Everytime we have icecream). Also us - ordering pizza for dinner tonight :).

REST: rest is not earned! It's not something that happens only if you are productive. Productivity and rest are separate. You can't pour from an empty cup! We are very intentional about honoring the Sabbath as well. ♥️

I recommend a power nap. Set your alarm for 28 minutes and lay down
