Something to be noted though, because they are a mercenary company they are able to properly equip and train all their men. Most medieval armies like what Rob had would be levied militia men from towns and villages with just basic equipment and simple training. Mercenary companies would have what was called a ''Man at Arms'', which would be a professionally trained soldier with a full suit of armor and weapons.
The Doom happened the very first histories and lore video and was mentioned several times in the show. The doom of Valyria is basically the very first thing you see in the opening titles.
Conquering is how the Medieval and Ancient world worked. Every single crown in history was forged through conquest. In this world every crown was forged through conquest. All 7 kingdoms before the Targaryens included. Including the Starks. People think all the northern lords happily bowed to the Starks because they have this idea that all the Starks were these kind noble type like Ned Stark. The Starks schemed and conquered just like everyone else. The Starks conquered the North. Sansa saying they didn't do it for glory is a lie. Remember these POVs are biased. The books make it clear there were power-hungry Starks too who killed to get to the top. They didn't come to rule the North by playing nice. There were even houses wiped out by the Starks because they refused to bend the knee. This is the case with the other houses as well. So the Targaryens have the absolute right to do the same thing. Why Aegon conquered Westeros is addressed in House of the Dragon. The Targaryens got Dorne through Diplomacy about a century and half later. A double marriage between King Daeron I and Princess Myriah Martell as well as King Daeron's sister, Princess Daenerys (whom show Daenerys is named after) and Prince Maron Martell (the ruler of Dorne and brother of Myriah Martell). Dorne joined the Seven Kingdoms after this and bent the knee to the Targaryens. Dorne is badarse. The show destroyed them but they're awesome in the books too. The show cut a the majority of the Dorne storyline and characters.
Never Bent, Never Broken is the motto of the Martells, the only ones to repel the Dragon forces, and there was also a letter from Dorne to the Targaryens that Aegon read very carefully and then stopped insisting on conquering Dorne . What would that letter say?...
I like the idea that Rhaenys survived the fall and was either held hostage or more likely died from wounds and martell somehow convinced aegon to peace with that.

I've really been enjoying your reactions. I would like to offer Orphan Black as a much underrated series for you to react to...action packed with many twists and turns...and lead actress won an Emmy for her performance in this series...please consider.
Imagine you where growing up with GoT. In this case you would’ve been spoiled big time. The dance of dragons has its own histories and lore movie which I’ve seen long ago. And as of a current situation - I’ve read fire and blood.
Some shows i feel u will enjoy Black Sails. And if you like Star Wars, do the prequels, Clone Wars, Rebels, then Sequels. If u like Marvel, start with Iron Man (of course 😂). And do Agents of Shield, a brilliant series.

Ngl, it feels like Dorne has major plot armor sometimes. It is almost certainly is another one of George's Blackwoods.
