This is "trail hunting!" Hursley Hambledon hunt, Hampshire

Many years after the Hunting Act, terrier men wait for hounds to hunt foxes to ground so they can set terriers on them. During cub hunting in the autumn the hunt is out at 6am hunting fox cubs. The foot followers watch for foxes and cubs and point them out to assist the huntsman.
This is what they call trail hunting!
