This is amazing !! ❤ i want to do this to our floors ! Theyre almost 90 years old, and were never sealed. They need to be sanded BADLY and theyre a really dark color which just looks horrible with all the dirt stains over the 9 decades of expanding and contracting and neglect and abuse. ~ does it matter what brand? Or will any lye do ? Alao, you just gained a subscriber. ❤
That wasn't a stain varnish. That was the caustic soda drawing out the tannins (dyes) in the wood. The stain on the rag was coming out of the wood, not being put on it. Method: Caustic solution, then peroxide, leave peroxide on for a few hours until it dries. Repeat until you get the shade you want, then rinse with water to remove the leftover chemicals.
I subscribed, please make a longer how to of this method!
I’m in love with this color light stain
Did you do the soda solution wipe off the do the peroxide? How long between coats?

Why would you stain then bleach? And you should triple rinse after oxalic acid
That wasn't a stain being put on; it was the caustic solution drawing out the tannins (dyes) in the wood and the cloth wiping it off.
