There is the old method of creating a fish creel. Drive stakes into the bottom of the pond and corral the bass into the circ,e, then just move the stakes to make it smaller and smaller. Eventually you'll get a couple you can net. The other option is a slow net. You throw a big stretch net across a body of water, then drag it, slowly towards you. Works well for small ponds though

Would absolutely love to see more pond videos!! Those bass definetly need more minnows and feedings aswell with there not being a large area for them to thrive and hunt in with excess natural bait.

We called it a drag net. But 2 poles on either side and 2 people walk trapping everything between you. Walk towards a bank around the area your feeding them at and just use a smaller net and a third person to select which fish you want from the area they’re trapped in.
The way granny says oh my you’ve grown is the way he way talking about these fish but he sows under more interested lol 😅

Electro-shock them! I know some biologists have backpack units, Flairs has gotten a boat in his pond before! It doesn't hurt them, it just makes them swim toward the signal and then you net them, it's very safe! You could even tag every fish in an hour or two I bet

Maybe a safe way to catch/handle the Sam's massive bass would be to use a stretcher, like they use on dolphins and other large aquatic animals. Just a thought. Love the videos and seeing Shiner Sam's property recover after the Hurricane.
I know the perfect way is how I do it. You get a big net and attach a piece of food they eat and attach it where it hangs in the middle of the net and one or maybe two will jump in the net for that bait. That’s how I safely do it.
Try using a drop net basket and throw the bait on top of it until they get use to it and then pull it up really quickly

You gotta start back tagging those bass especially the big ones and some of the smaller ones so that later on if those little ones are caught back you can see the progress in growth and health
Use a fishing net you would keep on a boat. Have it right infront of you under the water about a foot and have Sam throw a shiner right on top of the net and at the same time you lift. Should catch 1 or 2. I used this method to catch a wild duck so this should work for Sam's friendly bass who eat from his hand
Fish can only grow to their environment... Huge fish need vast waters man or someone willing to feed them for life.

Get a large rubberized net push it to the bottom and just toss a shiner above it

Have you ever thought of making a basic chicken-wire trap? Just a standard, funnel-in, one-chamber fish trap with a little bait-bag hanging inside the parlor. It won't hurt the fish, but if you want to prevent turtle drownings (sometimes those greedy buggers'll go in after the fish bait), make sure the top 1-1.5 inches is above the water, so they can breathe.

get a 50inch carp net that we use in the UK to land the carp submerge it and when Sam frows a shiner over into the net lift up when you know theres a fish in it. you wont be able to scoop with it due to the size of it

Get a company in to electro fish and survey shinner sams pond would be fascinating to see
Use a high speed camera to capture them feeding at the surface. Float something near the spot where you throw the bait for a measurement reference point. Guess the weight based on length.
i like the FB market stuff and cant wait to see all the things you bought in the water but the pond videos are always my favorite

@jigginwithjordan are you still going to tag your fish? Also to safely check on shiner Sams' fish in situ you could get a really good net and coax the fish into a corner of the pond and then when there are lots of fish in that corner just grab them out of the water with your hands. The biggest thing with that idea is the net and the amount of people you need. The net needs to go ALL the way down to the bottom of the pond. That way they can't escape. Lastly, you will need lots of people on the net in the water either walking or in boat/movable floating devices of your choice. The more the better. Then when you're done just get the net out of the water and the fish will be free again. Also you should also add the blue to your pond because of the plants and such that take over your pond.
Missed the pond videos, I enjoyed the video Brandon! I do think you will have to feed the fish consistently to get them to grow big though🤔

The best way is to make a small fence like barricade an just have two post or poles with the net tied and two people and step down into the water and then drop some bait an then drop the barricade behind where u dropped the bait blocking them like a fence all the way around and then just push it to shallow water an u can get ur pick of which one u want to weigh
You should go catch some bluegill, green sunfish, whatever and some crayfish to get in the pond. Bigger bass need a lot of food. They hungry,
You should fish all of them out the pond and tag them to track how there doing.
Also bring a giant load of shiners to the pond, a truck or 2? 😂
Definitely dye the pond blue.
And maybe bring more fish inside the pond.
