    The sensitivity of your playing is 'par-excellence'. A wonderful UA-cam video. Deserves a million plus views.

    I have a 1996 Gibson Nighthawk and it’s an amazing instrument. These are underrated and under appreciated. Most people aren’t even aware that these actually exist. Absolutely beautiful playing!

      Then keep it a secret :) - I spent a fortune trying to change a Strat into a similar instrument. Eventually I purchase all the original the parts for a Jeff Beck Strat and improvised with wiring a S1 pull/push pot to my own design which gave 10 sound settings, one excellent for Mark Knopfler if you like that type of thing and one setting for Kenny Burrell (fabulous Jazz sound) - I know a diverse range.
      I think that the video relies on Tobias's sensitive and superb execution of playing style and the Greer Amps Lightspeed overdrive gismo.
      Give your Nighthawk a hug from me. You are very fortunate and obviously selective in appreciating classic musical instruments.

    Another example of something ubiquitous : Good players can make any instrument sound good.
    Lovely playing on a first -class guitar.

    I bought one in 1993 from Victors House of Music in Ridgwood NJ. I sold it. Man I miss that guitar.

    Great now i need one!!! Sounds like you could get some Jerry Garcia tones on that middle pickup and with the strat/tele scale length! :)

    Lovely playing from Tobias! I have the Landmark series Navajo Nighthawk. Also a great guitar though it doesn't have that highly versatile pickup arrangement of the original.

    You are a very good guitarist. The guitar you are playing produces one sound throughout the entire video. That's OK, because you play nicely. What I suspect is that one of those three pickups is so much louder than the others, that it overwhelms the special tones of the other two.

    Could this be Gibson's most sonically versatile solid-bodied electric ?

      Due to left wrist problems, I need shorter scale, lighter guage strings and a narrower nut. Recently, I bought a Fender Duosonic which is not bad... yet these tones are sweet and pure! Hmmm...?

      @@mcdee56 If you get the opportunity it would be interesting to try a Nighthawk. I hope that your wrist problems improve; have you applied warmth to the wrist ? Sometimes heat can improve blood flow to the area and thus aid healing.

      @@TheHumbuckerboy Sounds like you have a Nighthawk and recommend it? Thanks for inquiring about my wrist. I'm older and have been playing for 50 years. Currently using a tennis elbow band on my forearm and thinking about the carpal tunnel surgery. I love these clean tones!

      @@mcdee56One of the guitars that I own is a Gibson 'The Paul' but I would like to try out a Nighthawk . The only famous player that I have seen playing one is Peter Frampton and he was getting a great tone (especially from the mini humbucker at the bridge). I hope that you get sorted concerning your elbow/wrist . One of my favourite players ( Snowy White) has had to give up playing due to what sounds like a similar problem. Last night I was enjoying listening to Snowy's blues soloing on a Thin Lizzy recording on a song titled 'Memory Pain' which is well worth checking out !

    Dear Vintage Guitar Oldenburg, how do you process this signal, please? Ive sampled this guitar on other postings and they sound terrible! Thanks!

    • @VintageGuitarOldenburg
      @VintageGuitarOldenburg  2 роки тому +2

      We just use a small 2-channel mixer for leveling and then go straight into the camera with no further processing
