Two British icons side by side. The only man (civilian, not military trained) suitable for talking about this remarkable unique aircraft is Guy. What a beautiful looking airplane. Avro Vulcan!!!
I was fortunate enough to see 558 both when it was still being displayed by the RAF and later when it went back on the display circuit what a sight to see in the air and what a sound it made.
These days all that creativeness goes to formulating welfare outcomes and inventing diseases that don't exist like Autism and paying pensions for things like a child problem like some weird name like HDT , but its ok I'm told as they create good jobs for all the millions of retards that go through University and they would not have jobs otherwise , so all's good according to the Fabian Socialist experts and who am I to argue with the elite experts , after all I was only born with common sense and am uneducated .
Keep it up and running, i have pictures of this from when it flew over another grounded vulcan at Sunderland air museum on its last tour. I'm lucky enough to have the air museum at the bottom of my street with a vulcan on open display, i tuck my children to see it last week and it was sad to see it's condition. I remember the day it landed around 35 year ago, it was the first vulcan to go into collection.
Guy Martin!!! The Mad Manxman!!!! I would just love to sit down with you at your local pub, have a couple of pints well.... Maybe more than a couple of pints and just talk. I'd love to hear your stories. And as for Avro's crowning achievement the Vulcan, to be involved in any way with her farewell flight would be possibly the coolest experience of My life. And I'm not even a Brit. I'm American. Still, the Vulcan heavy bomber is one Wicked Scary Bad Assed warplane!!!!!! Love from Florida in USA!!!!!!!!
Simon cowell should be made responsible for keeping this feat of engineering in the sky after years of brain washing our impressionable youth into lack of talent shows for personal gain and generally dumbing down this great nation which our fore fathers fought and worked so hard to build, probably the least he good do as a gesture and a reminder of what we were capable of.
I saw one performing at an airshow in the 1960,s It was incredibly loud and now I know why, it used the same engines as the Concord.SST. Rolls Royce Olympus turbojets,And I noticed it could fly quite slowly if needed.
A Vulcan attended Red Flag one year, while we lived in Las Vegas, and I got to see it flying, only for a few minutes, and from a long, long ways away. The plane had taken off from Nellis, and made a turn, and headed north some place. Lord, it was beautiful! It was like nothing I've ever, ever seen in the sky, a giant manta ray, beautiful and graceful beyond belief. I was lucky to have seen it!!
from 78 - 80's I'd go out back garden, climb up and sit on the garden shed roof and just watch LOADS of um passing over. I grew up in Newark so I was frontseats views 😃😃😃🤗🤗😚😚😚😚😚😚 It's actually very hard to describe the feelings. it made some folks in Newark feel physically sick, when one flew over. the sound, and rumble, was so STRONG 1st time my brother saw one, he came running into the house, - *'RIGHT YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE WHAT IVE JUST SEEN ... Enjoy any video that shows a Vulcan. Loud and proud! A flight of these wonderful planes should be kept airworthy with the cost covered by cutting Government Liberal programs. The 50's was decade for British aircraft- Vulcan, Victor, Valiant, and Lightning to name a few.
AND IF YOU GO TO NISAN CAR PLANT IN THE NORTH EAST JUST OFF THE A19 YOU CAN SEE ANOTHER VULCAN ASK ANYONE THEY WILL KEEP YOU RIGHT,JUST KEEP ON THE LEFT
What makes you think this short clip from an hour long documentary was made by BBC? Or are you just showing your ignorance and prejudices there Bruce? It was made by an independent production company who mostly make documentaries for other commercial broadcasters, such as Channel 4 in this case. Same company that make all of the travel, industrial history, speed, and record breaking documentaries featuring Guy Martin.

I was fortunate to seeing two Vulcans at an air show in Guam in 1978. One was flying. Beautiful aircraft
Merci pour cet enthousiasme communicatif !
I wish I was like guy Martin
Who better to get a ride in a Vulcan then Guy
I used to see this Vulcan fly over me when I was fishing at beaver castle, wish I had took some pics of her.
Newark 😃🤗👍
The Vulcan built of a time when British engineers could be creative with there minds.
Very true but it had a lot to go wrong. That's why I've always admired the Russian approach to designing aircraft. But still love the Vulcan!

Such a beautiful machine.
I saw this plane at an Airshow in Manchester 1991? It screams, and when it banks it powerslides. The noise was outstanding.

In doncaster we have a vulcan but its dumped because it has no hanger
Britain should ask to get a few B-2 stealth bombers or maybe 20 B-52 bombers?

A dry Vulcan weighed about the same as Scania and it’s Trailer.....?
Peter Cavellini yup.
Don’t need Planes to launch He’ll on Earth these Days, you just need a Silo with a Rocket full of Atoms....🤨😎
Actually the man who fixed it retired
Its not due its costs its retirement was due to lack of third parties providing insurance
What a load of BBC rubbish. I admire Guy for his efforts with the Manx TT, but this video is complete nonsense. [Aussie in BC]
