As a retired Navy Sailor, this is very accurate in an amusing way. Beards were still allowed when i joined in 1982. The jumper is not that easy to remove as depicted. Lol.
I remember beards and I also remember the dealine day for every Sailor to be shaved, man the tears and whining going on in the berthing compartments, seemed everyone waited till the last very minute to comply, sposedly for proper OBA Fits. Anyway they was ALL BABY FACES when all done. We still did BEARD GROWING contests on deployments though, well into the mid 90s Ive seenem done!⚓️🇺🇸🍻✌🏻
I think this as the epilogue for the Snafu series: · It was done in 1946. · Since the war was over, the army and the navy could go back to their regular sibling rivalry. · Snafu literally gets the girl in the end.
The drawing of the Japanese character wasn't a racist depiction of all Japanese; it was a political depiction of Tojo, who was short, wore glasses, and had an overbite.
I am sure you are like your hero Trump who also thinks brown-skinned immigrants from south of the border are comprised of rapists and murderers. Granted, our nation was fighting a war and times were different, but doesn't mean we should chuckle at ugly racist propaganda stereotypes used to rile up the civilians at home and the troops.
A general comment about all your rescued films: It would be nice if the ID number, film length stamp, at the bottom, was semi-transparent. Often, it completely obscures something important.
So this was supposed to be the start of a "Seaman Tarfu" spin off giving the navy the same informational/comedy approuch as the army had for "Private Snafu" but by the time production wrapped the war had ended to they scrapped the series.
the great Mel Blanc

Yep. It's pretty accurate.

Can't make 'em like that now...
Amen brother
100% historically accurate naval experience
It's close, but this video didn't showcase our Navy morale boosting drag shows.
Horseshit!
Might want to sell that crap to the brave sailors that were maimed or lost their lives in sea battles!
@mikemainer3009, you should lighten up before you have a stroke.

Because to be fair, Japan and Germany did the same for Allied soldiers, especially colored regiments.
So basically all sides resorted to racism.
What a great gag at the end LOL
yeah when they said sailors are fighting men, I was expecting a bar fight.
These are awesome
"The Navy, as seen by the Army"
Robert C. Bruce narrated this cartoon.
I❤ THESE!
круто, что даже после 2 мировой в США ещё продолжали снимать эти фильмы про SNAFU

New opening is great! 😁
4:40 had me nearly burst out laughing.

A tar is an old name for a sailor.
G.I. beans, G.I. gravy.
Love it and should never offend people maybe that’s the problem with America 🇺🇸

Salty seaman UwU
This film appears to have no practical purpose beyond amusement
Anything to boost morale...
Agreed!
The last thing you want inter-service juvenile crap to divide a nation in the middle of war.
