Important question I can't figure out how to do this anywhere. I want all my footers to be different where I can type what ever I want in them but no matter what it's duplicated on every page. How can I make individual footers for each page all being different?
How do you completely remove having a header on a second page? I deselected match previous, and when I try to delete the second page header it always deletes it from the first page. Is this a flaw in the system or am I missing something??
So, what if I want to add text to the foot that exceeds the "box" (Pages shows three boxes within the footer)...once I click out of the footer it hides most of my text. How can I just have ONE footer "box" or at least get Pages to show all the text?

I finally figured this out. In my version (Pages 6.2), go to the second page of your document and click in the header area. Delete the header content. Click on the "Document" icon in upper right-hand corner, then the "Section" button. Under "Page Numbering" you'll see a dropdown that says "Create a new section". Click on that and drop down to "Starting on this page" and choose that. That should eliminate it for that page and all subsequent pages. Very difficult to figure out.. should be a lot easier, Apple!

Ok, this may be a different issue all together, but when I change the format of the page numbering (i.e., to roman numerals) it only applies to the header but not the footer. I cannot seem to change a page number format in the footer to anything other than standard numbers (i.e., 1,2,3,4...). Is there a way around this? thanks in advance

After a bit of bashing the programme around I found you can add text boxes to the footer. So in the left hand column I added four text boxes to create four columns. These then run over top the middle and right hand box. You have more control over width, height and styles of the footer.

In the Layout Inspector, under Section tab, uncheck "Use previous headers & footers" checkbox. 5. After you uncheck, you will still see the header. Now select the header in page 2, and press Delete and you'll have an empty header for page 2, with the original first page header intact.

I guess you can click text and text box will show up and you can write anything on top of your words.
