The transition to Wild Thing was impressive! Further transitioning to wheel pose is quite evident now, thank you!

wild thing in a "beginner" course gave me a sore back for a year ha ha. Happy for all these yogis who are ex dancers and gymnasts but maybe for the rest of us it's good to just sit and appreciate :D

How long should I be holding these poses. I can't help but feel uncoordinated when I try them

excellent question. I find this to be a huge problem with yoga these days. it seems to have been co-opted into a sort of pilates/calesthenics hybrid and younger instructors do not seem to understnad the physical benefits of holding the poses and working your way into them, as it were. My recomendation would be to hold them as long as you are comfortable, then go ten seconds longer. Be careful not to push too far, injury is possible and will set back your practice. But do challenge yourself. Use these excellent ideas and poses to help but don't subscribe to this jumping jack style of yoga.

I just count in breaths. Sometimes a couple or maybe 5-8 in and out breaths. Go at your own pace x

If I had good balance I could do these poses. These don’t help teach how to achieve balance they show me what I could do if I could achieve balance. Even when I was practicing yoga 3+ hours a week I couldn’t do some of these. I have actually been following another yoga instructor on YT who takes you through the foundation’s of each pose which is helping me learn how to achieve the core strength and balance I need to perform these poses.
This video seemed more like a “watch me show off what I can do” and no instructions on how to grow my own level of mastery.

She mentions a few modifications but never does any of them. Bad. Also, where are the yoga blocks? Those will help those who need modifications, which is virtually everyone who is not far advanced in their practice. Finally, where's the information that head stands aren't for people with neck or shoulder problems? You can really hurt yourself trying this before you are ready, without proper instruction/supervision or if you have some muscular issues.
