Had my Ruger LCP for 3 years and love it. Bought the Crimson Trace laser for it but took it off. Painted the front sight white and I do just fine with it. Great little gun. You did better with the Laser Max than I could with the Crimson. Good video
The LCP is actually pretty good for what it is. I did a review of the LC9 several months ago and felt is was a terrible trigger. I think the LCP is a much better than the LC9. Thanks for watching.
The best concise review and demo on the LCP w/laser. I've opted to go with the LCP vs the new LCP II and your review even after 10 years have been helpful. I like the smaller form of the LCP vs the newer LCP II and like you said, it's not a primary gun, but a small on hand is better than the larger and heavier gun at home when in need.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I’m glad the video was able to be of assistance. I hope you consider subscribing to the channel and sharing with friends and family.
I just purchased this same model LCP with the laser yesterday. Very good video and review. I am impressed with the capabilities you have shown here on your video. Good Job!!!
Best and easiest way I found to sight in lasers on pistols is to purchase a chamber laser boresight (cost between $20/$25) for the caliber of your pistol. That way you can establish a distance where you want both lasers to intersect for greater accuracy. It's a really convenient and accurate way to insure the laser sight is on target at a given distance. Also makes it quicker and easier to check the laser sight at a later date.
Maybe it's because you sound like my late step-father (from Bangor, ME) that I enjoy and believe your reviews. My EDC is a Sig 290rs from another video....Yesterday I got a Ruger LCP....Shot it this morning...It was your evaluation that moved me to get a Lasermax for it. I enjoy your videos! But more importantly, I act on them.....
I own the lc9 and if you buy the long magazine, your gonna get that extra grip that is missing on a small great little compact defense weapon. Thanks for the informative vid.
Good video as always. What makes me laugh is every time I hear the comment ( not just from you but other YT guys also) “THIS IS A BACK-UP FIREARM “. My man I personally don’t even like carrying one firearm never mind 2. Don’t get me wrong I am a 2nd Amendment supporter and NRA member, I’m blessed to have a nice collection, but brother it is so hot here in sunny FL that I usually wear basketball shorts, and a t-shirt, and my most EDC firearm is a Ruger LCP Max ( with extra mag) in a Sticky pocket holster made for a Glock 42 but I put a small piece of rag inside and it brings the LCP to the perfect height and the holster stays in the pocket, for me it’s perfect. When I go out with my lady I wear jeans or khaki pants then I carry either my Hellcat, 365XL, or Glock 43x MOS, either at appendix or 3 o’clock, but definitely can’t see myself carrying two firearms not even at ankle carry
Thank you for commenting. You raise important point. Concealed carry is often dictated by clothing consideration. And there are instances where the Ruger LCP ends up being my primary and only carry pistol. Well I prefer a full-size or compact, the beauty of a small pistol like the Ruger allows me to take it with me pretty much anywhere. Thanks for commenting. I hope you will consider subscribing to the channel.
i have roughly the same configs and that laser makes it that much easier to site in and it's still fun to shoot. Not going to put 100+ rounds through it every time I'm a the range, but it's a nice little pistol.
I'm considering this as my primary weapon. I live in FL, and with my 160 pound frame, I have an extremely hard time find an "always" gun, because I have normally left my larger weapons at home because I have a hard time concealing them. I did however, own a Taurus TCP, and because of its size......I ALWAYS had a weapon on me. Plus in FL , it's always warm so it's usually always a form fitting type of shirt for me.
He great fast moving video with good information. My wife carries this gun with a grip activated laser....I want to show her this video and let her know what is possible in terms of accuracy. Thanks.
I agree it's not realistic, but the point was to demonstrate it. Ideally, the threat would comply. This target didn't! My perfect solution would be to avoid the fight to begin with... Run, Hide... and Fight...only if no other option is available. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe!
It’s my favorite gun to shoot other than my AR I like the challenge and took me a good 200 rounds to get good and then I got the laser max and I didn’t even have to try anymore
I own a kydex IWB holster for the Ruger LCP. But it does not fit this laser. If I wanted to purchase this for home defensive purposes, is it easily removable for carrying my Ruger pistol concealed?
Why didn't demonstrate shooting shooting the #4 box with the laser? I am guessing that your pattern would not have been much better that the #3 box.. :-) Not criticizing at all as I have the same setup. I was just expecting a demonstration alongside the iron sites in the #3 box and the laser on the #4 box. Very well done video and good information, thanks. Now if someone could just tell me where to get a laser for my Colt Mustang Lite I would be happy. It is basically the same frame as the Colt Mustang XSP
+camarogs1 simple... the pattern wouldn't have been better, maybe worse. The key is not so much putting laser ( or sights for that matter ) its where the laser ( or sights ) will be when the trigger is fully depressed.
Green lasers are visible much better in the daylight than red ones. That's how much I've managed to learn about lasers. One day I'd get the green one for my LCPs PRO. Now I need to decide: a laser with tactical light combo vs a Red Dot for my G19 MOS, which is still running optic-less. Anyone has their educated opinion?
So far money wise laser/light combo looks like a better choice, than RMR: it's less expensive. Useful design is also better because adds tactical light and laser in one package. Laser works just fine at night. RMR is useless at night and you'd need to purchase light separately if you still want to use RMR at night. That's basically my thoughts regarding this matter. When you are saying that you have personal preference and nothing more it explains nothing.
Thanks for the video. My wife has the LC380 and was thinking about adding the laser. Will have to buy one now . Any idea how long the battery last and where to get replacements ? thanks
Thanks for commenting... I've never claimed to be an expert. I know what works for me. If I can carry a slightly larger handgun, I prefer a 9mm over a .380. Typically that's a Glock 19, G48 or M&P Compact, for EDC. However, there are many days when the Ruger LCP is in my pocket and is my primary carry gun. Thanks again for watching. Stay safe.
I’m sure if you did a simple Google search you could find multiple options for the Ruger LCP. My Ruger came with the laser attached. I believe the lasers from Crimson trace. Reach out to Crimson trace and they might be able to help you or called a Ruger factory directly. Thanks so much for watching I hope you’ll subscribe.
+JRPowellIIIMusic You're better off with a Viridian green laser. Although it is more difficult to turn on in the dark, it comes with a magnetic holster which allows you to turn the laser on and holster it. It turns off when holstered and comes on immediately once removed from the holster. Also is about 4 times as bright as a red laser, so at close range you can get by without a flashlight. Costs $$ but you can pick one up for about $130 and easily install it yourself.
I hope your camera man is a tripod since you never seem to clear your weapon before pointing it at the camera even after firing a full clip but not being sure.
I bought one so my wife can go shooting with me. My hands are too big for it, I prefer my PT911... After she shot the Ruger she preferred my gun too, dammit anyhow.
Hopefully you stop the threat? Have you ever seen someone get hit by 380 hollow points 6 times and keep going ?yeah me neither . A gun is a gun it's all about who shoots first if I draw that 380 before you draw your 45 there I win .
jake scalli Thank you for watching and commenting. I agree with you 100% that the operators ability to use whatever fire and they have efficiently and accurately is what counts. Yes I have spoken with several combat that and law-enforcement officers who have a shot suspects multiple times with different calibers and because the suspect was jacked up on drugs the threat did not stop.
I own a ruger380/red laser. unable to find a suitable belt holster to safely carry it. people in the business don,t seem to assist, this gun has sold well! my pants pockets are too small for fast draw if needed i need a small belt type for safety. Any assistance appreciated.
I bought one for $350. LaserMax is a great accessory. Your video was a factor in my making this choice. Thank you.
The lc9s is $279 now on sale
Had my Ruger LCP for 3 years and love it. Bought the Crimson Trace laser for it but took it off. Painted the front sight white and I do just fine with it. Great little gun. You did better with the Laser Max than I could with the Crimson. Good video
Best LCP gun review yet your the only one I saw who knows how to shoot this weapon correctly!
The LCP is actually pretty good for what it is. I did a review of the LC9 several months ago and felt is was a terrible trigger. I think the LCP is a much better than the LC9. Thanks for watching.
What’s the name of the laser??

Excellent video! Very good point about shooting at "odd" angles - I never even considered that.

great honest review. just bought mine. cant wait to test it out at the range next week. beautiful gun. Thanks for the full review.
Great, informative video as always Sir! You are one of the best firearm shooting/review channels on UA-cam.
Many thanks for watching! Hope you'll share the channel with others.

The stock sights are not for competition shooting. Point and shoot 1.5 to 7 yards max.. Laser is a cool feature though..
Awesome video! You answered all the questions I had, even though I'm applying it with my Ruger LCP 2. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Good video as always.

@@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC thank you for the reply I just sub. Would you know what company makes a holster for this set-up ? I can’t find anything
It would serve you well. The LCR has a great trigger as well.
I have the LCP with the lasermax as well and like it.
If I'm ever attacked by a light blue milk bottle, I want a Ruger LCP!

Thanks for the video I just bought this piece, ive heard good things about this 380 ruger .
Enjoy it
I put the green lasermax on my LC9s. Works well. The only problem was finding a holster for it. Finally found one...Detroit Kydex on ebay.
Great video review of the Ruger LCP with Lasermax Laser. I want one!
The laser is a good bit of gear on a small pistol like this. Thanks for watching.
He great fast moving video with good information. My wife carries this gun with a grip activated laser....I want to show her this video and let her know what is possible in terms of accuracy. Thanks.
Paul Opp Rather than show her a video, take her to the range. ;-)
Where'd you get the grip activated laserm
Thanks for watching. I am impressed with the LCP.
I assume that there is a means for adjusting, or sighting in, the laser? Looks like a great shooting little handgun.
+Jon Neet Yes there is. Small allen key for elevation and windage
I have a lc9s and I’m thinking of installing a layer maxx
How is the lasermax holding up. Is it still working?
Love your vids man, keep it up. Very informative.
Uniquely helpful review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Great review. Really solid

I hope I never get into this situation, but you're exactly right, only if no other option is available.
Just like the police😂
That's not meant for the threat, it's for potential witnesses who can confirm you were acting in self defense. Cops do the same thing.
It’s my favorite gun to shoot other than my AR I like the challenge and took me a good 200 rounds to get good and then I got the laser max and I didn’t even have to try anymore

is .380 enough to stop someone? is there some better option for concealed carry with laser?
I dont know about the battery life will have to see. Best bet is chat with the manufacturer and get the specs on the laser. Thanks for commenting.
My everyday carry with the laser max mines the 2013 it has a decent trigger
Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you will subscribe.
backup.. primary.. mine will do the same in either situation
Great point. I often carry this pistol as well. It's reliable and a a great pocket carry (in a good pocket holster). Stay safe.
Freaks me out when he keeps point the gun at 'me'. But good review. Does having the laser limit the holsters it will fit?
+dwilliams131 I use this gun as a back up and normally it's in a pocket holster. Fits fine

how do you change the battery on the laser
2 screw and cover pops off. Then 3v battery from Wally World.
I had to buy laser separate

I don't believe this will fit on the EZ9.
It makes me nervous when he points the gun at me like that in ghetto style. Unbelievable..
