I vow that it's goodbye
I vow that it's goodbye and God bless
Why did you have to assume
We're exactly the same?
Oh, no, no
Talk about yourself, self, self
I vow that it's goodbye to the old ways
Those stories were a good read
They were dumb as well
I could never be seen
Falling down on my knees crawling
Oh, no, no
Talk about a sell, sell, sell
Oh, let the heavens shudder, baby
I belong to you
Oh, they said you get what you deserve
And all they said was true
So, is this what it's come to?
Am I cold or just a little bit warm?
Oh well, just give me an easy life and a peaceful death
Yeah, yeah
Wow thanks for sharing the lyrics. So cool!!
Gracias por la letra , amé
Beautiful! No pitch correction used nor needed. No rhythm syncing. Not to mention the composition and engineering… This is good music kids.
That vocal bridge is one of the greatest in the history of pop/rock music.
I agree, this song is a masterpiece💗
My oldest brother is nine years older than me. He had a lot of girlfriends when I was a kid.
One of them was a blonde girl with wavy curls, the brightest smile, and a sweet laugh. I don't remember how long they dated.
My brother was alternating between Chris Iassak and Nirvana at the time and she would play the Sundays' "Reading, Writing and Arithmetic" album.
For a very long time, whenever I heard "Here's Where the Story Ends" or "You're Not the Only One I Know", I would picture her in my head and hear her laughter in my thoughts.
My brother will be 50 soon, I'll be in my early 40s. I can't remember her face or the sound of her laugh anymore, but I still think about her occasionally when I hear the Sundays.
I wonder what became of her? I hope she's doing well, that she had kids with someone she loves and she sang Sundays songs to them when they were little.
Beautiful story for an evocative song
oh my god
That's so sad and beautiful at the same time
I just saw a video and apparently she and her boyfriend formed the band and after three albums they just decided to leave the music industry and have a family and apparently they are still together
@@soltantio Yes, indeed.
While I would've loved to have gotten more Sundays music, I'm glad they went the route they did.
Fame is a fickle thing at best, I'm happy for them that they chose to have a family together and made that their priority.
One of my favorite pop songs without a chorus. It’s like being swept up by a wave of bliss for a few minutes.
I’ve only just realised that. I guess the track is just so good and her vocals so impactful it just captivates you and whisks you away
“Just give me an easier life and a peaceful death”
My favorite line to one of my favorite songs. ❤
Gives me goosebumps, thank you🥹
Especially since I'd always heard it as "peaceful day"
@@kevinericsnell4092ssame here!
That variation at 4:19 after the whole song has been playing around the same chords always gives me the chills...
I’ve been getting the same chills at that point of the song for the past 30 years!
@@nekoericson5256 I love that!
#metoo
Same thing happens with She - "or has she stayed too long"
David Gavurin's guitar work is phenomenal here with the clever arrangement of the dynamics - such as this part here with that chord shift. Throw in that warm bass groove from Paul and Harriet's vocal delivery it's a song I go back to time and time again with many listens. The music video I've always adored it.
Used to listen to the sundays at uni in the 90s, with my cool girlfriend, great times. Oh and i married her. Happy times, shes still cool as well lol!!!
this is so sweet 😭
Im 54 and i was listening to this at the time it came out...its 2024 and the end still gives me goosebumps...that's good music friends😊
Harriet Wheeler was in another dimension. Singers like her come by once every 100yrs. She will always be my favorite.
Truly the best ever female singer ever and probably remains unknown to most. ❤
And most astonishing is: She doesn´t just have the most beautiful voice, she´s also pitch perfect - I checked some live performances: Not one single wrong note!
@@iancasidy9951I mean she lent a lot from Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins.
@@joachim595 was just about to comment this.. but EF is a much more diverse singer - Four Calendar Cafe is probably the most similar to the Sundays output in terms of style and overall a much more interesting list. edit: The Sundays are awesome though.
Unbelievable. One of the greatest pop (or from any genre) songwriting teams to have existed. And that continues to exist.
Completely agree
I agree and it's criminal how underrated they are, their songs are masterpieces💗
That voice... god bless.
The way I’ve been infatuated with this song since first hearing it 6 months ago, it still is thé the most beautiful song I’ve heard in my life!!
Same feeling
It literally broke me down and saved me by the end.
Yeah I'm currently going through the same thing. I was finishing my jog where the song came up. Felt like I was actually "hearing" it for the first time. The previous times didn't connect with me.
Harriet's voice grabs you by the ears and just drags you around wherever she wants to lead you!
And you don't mind following one bit...😌
her voice is something I think I will never be able to get out of my head its so beautiful
You have been blessed with good ears my friend. She’s one of the best ever.
2:35 - You won't find many vocals as good as that
Amen to that, just insanely good.
Ethereal heaven
Hard to believe this song came from 1992 when I was focused on engineering college and didn't even own a TV to see the video. There was so much great music in the 90s, it great to see what I missed.
Ive never heard any other female vocals that make me yearn for something, without even knowing what it is.
Chills every time
"Oh, let the heavens shudder, baby
I belong to you
Oh, they said you get what you deserve
And all they said was true
So, is this what it's come to?
Am I cold or just a little bit warm?
Oh well, just give me an easy life and a peaceful death
Yeah, yeah"
they were such a special band, we wont have something like this ever again, at least not anytime soon.
My all time favorite song...if I could only listen to one song the rest of my life this would be it...when I am down...and low...I put this song on...press my headphones tight to my ears...close my eyes...and slip off into space...
I cannot believe how beautiful Harriet it😍 She has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. Wow! First heard this band on an episode of Buffy when they played wild horses. ❤️ Ever since
To be young again and completely oblivious to the darkness that was yet to come.
Man, do I feel that.
to me, this band marks the end of true alternative music, and the end of what is finally being recognized as jangle pop, c-60, etc. then the 90s took over and a huge crowd of people bastardized everything I loved. goodbye and god bless
incredible song & band. listened to this all along highschool. love the sundays so much
Literally the best song ever
indeed! ♥🎯
I've been watching this video for 30 years now, but this was like seeing it new for the first time again. Wonderful job!!
25+ years later and Harriett still holds my heart in her hands.
Who isn't still listening to The Sundays❤😃
Lovely voice of Harriet captivates me every time. Oh well, just give me a easy life and peaceful death. ✌️
Pure Magic! Music does not get much better than this!
The first time I heard them I was driving a thousand miles from home, my love had just gone away forever and the station played three of their songs consecutively,
Love - Here's Where The Story Ends - Goodbye
I don't recall how long I cried but it was light outside when I broke and darkness breaking into sunrise when I stopped.
Pensar que esto es lo más HD que podremos ver de Harriet en un vídeo musical, no se si habrá otro video donde se vea tan bien a esta diosa de la música ❤
This song reminds me of my first relationship, one that ended very messily and painfully. We would listen to The Sundays together in his car, and sometimes i get a little sad, then i listen to the lyrics and remember what a loser he is and how sad he made me. I should’ve vowed goodbye and god bless a lot earlier
This is awesome! Thank you for the upload. My favorite Sundays song. Their cover of "Wild Horses" is the best cover made of a song in my opinion. Her voice,.... wow.
Their cover is one of my favorite songs EVER. Fr.
Sublime. A perfect pop song
So glad someone got this on UA-cam at last. Great work remastering it too!
The other one is still there. You have to use a VPN set to the UK
One of the greatest song i ever heard, sound like an angel is singing ❣️🥹
Caramba. Que música foda. Que banda legal... Volta The Sundays
Os ouvidos agradecem
Something in this awesome song reminds me of the Cocteau Twins!
yes you can see how the Cocteau Twins influenced the direction of this band on this record. As they did many other bands during that time
None of those bands were ever as good as the Sundays though. The Sundays were Sublime. Heartbreaking joyous deep. You could pick any one of their songs and be obsessed with it for 6 months and then go on to the next one
Quality upload! The sonic definition is crystal clear, the visuals bright and well clarified...
1992...Radio Miraflores....Lima-Peru❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍
Wow! También soy de Lima y creí que sólo pasaban Wild horses, es que nací en 2003 🥺
In the days when natural beauty ruled. Harriet was mesmerising..without the pumped up lips and botox. That voice too. This song though. Soaringly beautiful
Thank you for uploading this masterpiece! This song is forever in my Go-to playlist. :)
I love you for not putting ads on this
Hard to overstate my love for this album and how much I listened to it that year. Always felt like The Sundays were somehow overshadowed by The Cranberries for some reason.
From my perspective, Grunge music opened up the doors for "Alternative/College Radio" bands to join the Mainstream. Just look at the timing of when The Sundays and The Cranberries released their albums in comparison. Heck, even Mtv's "120 Minutes" became somewhat the norm because of Grunge. The mid 80's to '92 were truly a special time for those of us who enjoyed bands such as the Sundays They were "ours" and not "everyone's". I hope what I meant to get across makes sense. I'm under the weather today. I'm not a Spring Chicken anymore by any means.
Greeting from Morocco 🇲🇦 , too bad this song is so underrated
I feel so lucky to have seen them live. Such a great band with impeccable albums and singles. All of them are the best.
Extraordinaria banda... Saludos desde Perú!🇵🇪✌🏼
God bless Harriet and the Sundays. She sings like no other.
Thank you for the upload. Looks great. 🙏
Demasiado hermoso
Still remember the Great Norman B playing this on 107.7 KNDD in Seattle.
Always evokes great memories listening to this!
Love the sundays ❤❤
Simply perfection from all aspects! Love your personal touches! Excellent work!
This song.
Beautiful voicing by Harriet Wheeler! Her voice really takes flight and soars through 2:37 - 3:23...just amazing.
Yup. It’s unreal.
Excellent! Great work.
"I VOOOW THAT ITS GOOBYEEE" ughhh my fav
Thank you for remastering this. Great job. It looks amazing.
Dang I miss them so much
Harriet Wheeler, one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived on God's green earth.
I’ve never seen so many extremely attractive people in one band
The drummer so cool..
❤❤❤
Their best song and it's beautiful.
Simplemente hermoso
Please come back Harriet
Beautiful song, beautiful vocals, beautiful band. Thanks, Alexis, for the remaster.
If you like this, and you haven't already - go listen to Four Calendar Cafe by Cocteau Twins... basically a more harmonically interesting version of The Sundays - both have their place in my heart.
Cocteau Twins rhythms
Mazzy Star harmonies
Bjork friendly vocals
Harriet's voice is nowhere close in comparison to Bjork. Apples and Oranges.
@@JackFraz1972 "friendly"
@@startervisions I'm sorry but Bjork, although talented, is on the far end of the Autism scale. Then again, when go out with a toy that you won at the State Fair draped around your neck, it might be more "Icelandic".
@JackFraz1972 okay...I just figured people who like those artists...would enjoy The Sundays too because they are somewhat lesser-known
@@startervisions I rather prefer it that way. Nothing personal but I do like some of Bjork's work (solo and with the Sugarcubes). However, I really don't want the new found Fandom of Bjork coming over here and tainting a band that I very much appreciate. That will just open a can of worms that would probably lead to the comments section being shut off and I really enjoy discussing my appreciation of this band with others. I'm sorry that I am defensive and perhaps a bit harsh but I don't want trash over here.
Muchas gracias por el trabajo y por compartirlo. ❤️
Such a beauty. Thank you for uploading this
Masterpiece
You know I grew up in the 90s. And don’t remember hearing about this band. I regret that. Because I dig them now that I’m older.
One song you can never get tired of. Play it loud and enjoy!
Bro thank you so much. This is def my favorite music video of them.
Excelente!! Quedó maravilloso.
Se ve excelente, gracias!
my favourite fucking song rn
I've been searching this video!thank-you!
Thank you for this my friend. This is Gold.
For those who never heard Lush or Cockteau Twins check out these bands.
I never knew this song had a video! Thanks for share this masterpiece
The Sundays are the best ❤❤😊😊
thank you so much for this. appreciate it👌🏻
One of my favorite songs ever ❤!
Buen trabajo 👍
Great job! 👏
Me hace recordar los 90 mis inicios en la universidad
Their music feels like spinning
Wonderful!
Merci pour la vidéo, thanks a lot
Always leaving them wanting more! But less is more! I dream of a return of the Sundays and they play at a small venue in San Francisco--Her unearthly voice haunts me whenever I hear it, and I have all three cd's--Somewhat critically Trouser Press called out her "little girl voice" but also attributes "unusual phrasing" to her style--Is that it?--A wonderful group to have heard, under all of it, a stream of deep sorrow pervades my hearing, sorrow that this much time has passed!
Excellent...
The perfect song does exist.
i love this song so much
2:36 oh, my god..
I know. It’s literally one of the most powerful and amazing things ever put into a song. ❤
why isn't this on their official channel? It's amazing.
Superb! Thank you 🙏❤
Love her
🔥🔥🔥❤️
