How to Store Your Pins!

- I've been asked to explain how I store my Disney pin collection! So here is a step by step on how I use hard binders and soft books. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

I love all of your pin videos, but this one is probably my favorite! Super helpful for when I get to reorganize my collection.

I love that you named your dog pasta. When we first got my dog I wanted to name her noodle, but as a family we settled on something else.
For the pins that you display on the cork board, do you ever worry that they would fade in time? I really want to display my favorite pins but I don't want them to degrade.

I'll likely go with foam boards that are pre cut to be little smaller than norm 8.5 x 11 (from like Joann Fabrics or Michaels have 8x10 sheet packs) to simplify things for me. Put them in heavy duty plastic sheet protectors from Staples and house them inside a D Ring binder, 2" but probably 3" for safe side
It's not easiest to hang things in my apt so a binder approach feels like best alternative for me.
This was an awesome video! I used to do pin trading all the time when I was little, but I just stopped for some reason. I still always love videos about it, though!
Ah yay! The plastic tip is super helpful, way easier than pinning to the back of those pages :)

Just recently got back from a Disneyland trip and was at a loss of what to do with all our pins, love the cork board display idea :D Thanks!
I have been doing the Disney Store 30th Anniversary pins, and I don't usually collect/trade pins. I live in a pretty small apartment, so I need to find a way to store these guys until I get into a larger space where maybe I can display them. My first thought was "Wait...Sarah did a video about this!" Thanks for the tips! Even though I won't be trading these pins, these tips will be super helpful for me as I finish collecting this set!
This year they have some really cool pins. One of them is a HUGE pirate wheel, well it's a jumbo one but it looks humongous on camera. It's super cool

Will the corrugated plastic eventually wear down with the constant taking on and off of the pins?

It is very expensive. There's ways to make it cheaper but it requires you live near the parks and stuff. Glad you liked the video!
glad i don't collect disney pins...now i kinda do...but I mostly have sport logo pins...just trying to find some way to store them...scratch free
You can also use corkboard in between the pages of your pin bag. You can pick up 12 x 12 squares at Walmart for pretty cheap.

I know you've made videos on your pin collection before but have you ever done a complete pin collection video? I understand that your collection is always changing and evolving but I'd be interested in that.
I have all the pins I really love (especially my cast member ones), on a corkboard on my bedroom wall. My other ones I keep in a pin bag.
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I was using the baseball card sleeves and they suck haha. I never knew Disney had specific plastic pages for pins. Why have I never seen them?! Are they at any pin location? I can't wait to go through my pin collection and organize them now.
Yeah they are in the pin specific stores, usually near the racks where the books are.
When using the soft storage option or the cork board, where do you place/store the and does it matter if they match up with the original pin?

im a pin addict but many of my gold plated pins kind of rusted.... im not sure how to polish it, ive tried using toothpaste but it didnt polish to the original colour of gold :/
Take a blank portrait, and stick your pins in. Put an envelope on the bottom, to hold the backs.
Now that you have a new place have you displayed even more memorabilia or collectibles? It would be cool if you made a revisit video of all your cool amazing stuff in your new crib. peace out yo! Its hard...

@1:45 mark you talk about the bag or soft book binder. Where did you get that? I cant seem to find them anywhere. Also great video. I love that white foam trick you used in your binder. Brilliant!
I get them from Disney! Or online. Can prob find on ebay or Amazon.
I'm a big collector myself, but I like carrying my pins with me around the park and use lanyards. Do you have any lanyards for pin trading that you wear or do you bring the soft book?

Thanks for the video on pins, Sarah! I've just been getting in to pin collecting this year, and I was wondering what you think about people who are selling pins on eBay? I worry that a lot of them are fakes because I can't check them out in person. What's your opinion on buying/trading pins online?
Buying pin "lots" online (where they sell like 20-50 at a time) will result in 100% fake pins. If you buy limited edition pins on ebay, they are probably real :)
What do you do with all the backs from the pins in your soft bags? Do you NOT trade those?
I keep them in a bag and I put them back on the pins when I trade them :)
Ugggh I used to have so many pins but when I moved cross country, I couldn't bring much stuff with me. Now I only have a antique teacup full of them 😭
I like the idea of just being able to punch the pins into the corkboard frame but what do you do with all the backs?

Yeah! There's a little zip closed pouch in the back of the soft bag that I throw the pin backs into for when I need them.

If I go to Disneyland with my pin am required to trade on request?
No! Since it is your own personal property you can say no to anyone. The only people that are required to trade upon request is Cast Members because the pins are part of their costume, and not part of their personal collection.

Hypothetically speaking if you wanted to fix Pasta's red tear stains, put her on a grain free diet, give her goats milk... Both those things are good for her diet.
She is on a grain free diet and only drinks purified water. When she's older there are products I can use to wipe them, but she is too little for them at the moment.
