PS I love the sound of your journal and I have every confidence that you COULD create your own signatures. It's just stitching folded bits of paper together. ❤❤❤
Bored!? Never bored with your content Giselle, I don't sew or create anymore anymore but I love to see what you are making and hear you speak with such passion about things. Beautiful video x
Thank you so much Demelda, I am sorry your dont sew anymore but its lovely to share my passions and know that Im not boring someone with my waffle. I am still planning a Demelda Witch doll, tbh I love the name so much I could just about call everything Demelda, I really wish hubs would let me have a cat and she would definitely be Demelda!!!! I guess I need another granddaughter haha much love x
As you know G, I don't sew - but I love to hear what you've got to say. The way you weaved these two disciplines together was an absolute joy - thank you G 🙏❤️✨
Love all your videos - not bored at all! I follow same stitching channels and have learned so much from them. Beautiful tarot decks. I am trying to be good and use the ones I have but will wish list those two! I love decks with interesting art.
@@cynthiahamblin-perry5880 I totally appreciate the 'no buy as its that kind of move for me...but these gave such a textile feel so if you do purchase i don't think they are expensive x thank you so much for staying the course! much love Xxx
Beautiful books! I wish I sewed. You’re so talented. Immediately when I saw the Dulac and the Klimt I thought YES, perfect inspiration for stitching and working with textiles; I love them both! I do hope you have a better year, Giselle ❤
Hey lovely, I hope I haven't missed it but have you done a video with the Klimt ? I always enjoy listening to your passion for art and these are so perfect for creativity and imagination. Have an amazing 2025 too x
@ I haven’t done a walkthrough! I’ve shown it on my channel but I can’t remember which video. I don’t do walkthroughs too often actually. Usually they’re prompted by friends requesting them though, so maybe I can do one at some point ♥️
Hi Giselle! Your bits about working with fibers and thread reminded me how, about 25 years ago, i got a bagful of those little cardboard spools of yarn, all sorts of mixtures of different fibers. So one yarn might have a thread of polyester in with cotton, linen and silk. I spent literal days, fishing out the synthetics, and then did small bits of weaving with the natural yarns. I guess I knew what I wanted...!! I'll see if i can find it, to share. It was totally Avaloncraft meets Galadriel😂... You'd love Klimt in real life.... 🌻🧡
how wonderful! yes please do share Id love to see it. At one point I thought ' oooh I must just use natural fabrics etc' then I thought actually I need to use up all the things I have that are NOT natural because I dont want them going in landfill' ...so thats where I m at. Its such an interesting area and Avaloncraft meeting Galadriel sounds magickal ! x
@madwitch9977 i can hardly believe it but since typing, i actually found the little woven piece... Washed it and it needs a fix, but then I'll show it☺️. I think the pure natural fibre thing was about sacredness for me... But using up what we have, making everything count, it's respecting the resources, FOR SURE. So that's also sacred imo in a different way. Good talk🧡
I have those first two books on my wishlist, I hadn't seen the Kantha one you shared though, it looks great (I did a project featuring Kantha as part of my A Level Art & Design in textiles, my favourite bit was sewing on the little round mirrors). I can definitely see how you weave story into your work and that's what I love about it. I love free hand machine embroidery, I had a lot of fun with it last year when creating my notebook covers. Hoping to get some more done this year to use up my ridiculous mountain of scraps. Enjoyed this tarot and textiles combo chat! x
These books are lovely and I feel very fortunate to have them. Fleur Woods might appeal to you as well, she is a hand embroiderer but her colours and style is stunning and modern. She is on IG. Free Motion quilting is kind of where I started, knowing nothing. Now I look back and wish I had had the opportunity to do A Level art and Design. I can't wait to see what you create this year. much love Gx
Thank you for the shout out and your kind words. Did you hear me shouting yes! When you were talking about how they didn't teach sewing like this at school? 😁♥️
I have been watching your videos for weeks, hence I didn't want to comment on them as Ive gone right back to catch up and you have so many comments to answer already, but you have been a lovely companion while I stitch and being a year apart in age many things in common. I am forever nodding and laughing when you remind me of something from our childhood, thank you again for being so lovely. We are not so far apart geographically, we are in hampshire, so I hope one day to get to your exhibitions or even the NEC again, but boy is it expensive to stay over up there! much love x
I’m not good at sewing, but I like that Slow Stitch book. Sometimes I’ve learned to make things not because I wanted to hand make everything forever, but just to appreciate what exactly goes into it all.
i love the mix between the things I love x thank you so much Nicole for dropping into the cottage. I am slowly working my way through videos, i have a few of yours to watch ! x
I don't sew. LOL However, I enjoy you sharing about it for the simple reason that it takes me back to times with my grandma; she taught me to embroider, and I spent many lovely hours sitting next to her while she handcrafted clothes for my baby dolls or my Barbie dolls on her old iron Singer machine, you know the one with the treadle? Such wonderful memories, so thanks! You also commented that so many people use their Tarot for 'self-improvement' but that's rarely ever been my use for the cards -- I've always used a journal and various writing practices/projects for 'self-improvement. Interesting isn't it? How differently people use and are inspired by tarot and other practitioners? Blessings!
@@DaraDione what beautiful memories you have ...yes its absolutely lovely to hear how others explore self development and tarot is so versatile it bridges gaps and exores the subconscious like a mirror. I have both tarot decks. Dulac is beautiful, so inspiring. Klimt is nice because of its golden additions, but some of the images are so grotesque with the skinny nude bodies that I can't use it as frequently as I would like.
@@marciemckennatarot I can totally relate to that...it is the use of swirls and various symbols that lends itself to my textile imagination...we will leave out the nudity 😁🤭💐 thank you for watching and taking time to comment...Best wishes for 2025 x
