I really can NOT understand how someone like these few ignorant individuals can dislike this great tresure of vocal arts. Such a fine, balanced voice and timbre. Such a precision. Kraus had a really gorgeous voice and I appreciate the great adventure to listen to him once more at your channel. Thank you.
@@LohengrinO I don't even understand how such people can hate other men and hiss insultant comments though. For whatever "reason" they pretend to have. A human being, standing in place, making some of the most beautiful sounds a human can. As natural a flowing stream. It is truly a gift to us all to have the technology to re-hear and preserve the sounds the human voice was and is capable of. Kraus was always able to maintain that natural 'boy-ish' sound, which grew over time, but was always pure.
Pay attention to perfect diction: when it comes to French, singers often mess up the sound. On the other hand, what control of the regulators, what calm and what a wonder of mezzavoce (never falsetto, in Kraus never).
I attended a performance during his USA debut run (Kraus) in ( oct./Nov 1962) it was in Chicago three shows in E' LISIR, I had just seen a week before Tucker singing Boheme with Sighele as Mimi and then in Nov. he sang the Duke with Soprano Gianna D' Angelo and Bastianini, that I also saw but what I missed was a Prince Igor with Igor Gorin , David Polari and Boris Christoff (Oct./ Nov.)
The tone is superb, the interpretation is flawless, but the technique... is peerles. Kraus is the only one other than Caruso that has such a perfect technique. The man could sing perfectly "Ah, mes amis" (with its 9 high Cs) at the very end of his 50 years career.

Regards out of „The golden times of Tenors“! Tones like strung on a string of pearls, perfect legato and a dreamlike sound!
His eyes... so much innocence
Dear god, it’s almost too much beauty.
In his Eyes as well
I don't know what is more beautiful, the voice or the technique!
Both.
Sencillamente...ESPECTACULAR!!!!!!
What a gift from heaven! What a impeccably superb vocal technique and superb intelligence in never straying from his vocal genre!
Очень красиво! Краус великолепен, прекрасен.
Beautifully simple and simply beautiful!
Stunning. Merci, beaucoup!
Wonderful performance in music especially suited to Alfredo Kraus’ voice. So beautiful!

I heard him much later in his career. Still something to behold.
Beautiful, very touching,
sung from the soul.
One of the first tenor I heard as a child beautiful voice.
Gorgeous voice, gorgeous man!
Absolutely stunning. Thank you!
Following his gaze throughout is a joy. He’s not playing a part, so one senses that you’re looking at what his voice “looks like.”
Sencillamente maravilloso e insuperable!
Che bravo. Absolutely master of tenor❤
He was absolutely tremendous....listen to La Fille du Régiment Paris Opera 1986 with his favourite friend June Anderson....top
Qué príncipe!!! Qué voz!!! ❤❤
Μία από τις ωραιότερες ερμηνείες αυτής τής άριας, που έχω ακούσει.
Ευχαριστώ, Τεό.
Un verdadero maestro del canto. Este tipo de tenor por desgracia está en extinción.
'A remarkable tenor and a stunning man - amazing and rarest combination' (Vladimir Atlantov, tenor)
Yes!. I had the privilege of singing with him as a chorus soprano at the Met. A man of exquisite taste, talent and integrity.

I love his Eyes... so Innocent my God
Υπέροχος ο Κράους! Μεταξύ των μεγάλων τενόρων όλων των εποχών!!! Είναι τόσο παρηγορο να γυρνάμε πίσω στις υπέροχες εποχές που άξιζε να ακούς όπερα!!

Kraus was so remarkable when he sang this aria (though in Italian) in the 1959 film (32 years old) Gayarre. :D One of my personal favourites.
Fantastic
Thanks for the upload Lohengrin O… due to you, now I had the opportunity to hear him singing in both Italian and French …

Wow!
I am not a great opera follower, but this song and especially the singer, magnificent.
Unreal!!!
I like Kraus as well as Gedda in Les pêcheurs de perles.

@@truesoundchris Quite a few bold statements. Anyone of substance to back them? Eager to know! Thanks.

Magnificent. is this from Les pêcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers)? Thank you.
How old was he here?
What's song name?
Song😂😂😂
Je crois entendre encore - From The Pearl Fishers.
@@veganista_life I didn't know it was an aria, it could perfectly be a song
Anyone know how old he was here?
this was in 1970 if i'm not mistaken so that would make him 42 or 43. not exactly "young" lol
@@andress4780Pues parece mucho más joven!!! Parece un veinteañero, con esa dulce y tierna mirada!!! 😍
