Foreign Hands - George Ogilvie | Now back on streaming platforms

The old version of 'Foreign Hands' will return to all streaming platforms June 9th. So....
I left this project put extremely simply because the style of this and of October are the polar opposite of how I ever wanted to be represented and I reiterate that they were never supposed to be heard - they were created in a trial session with someone who [no disrespect to them] was not the right fit for me - making something purely for commercial purpose is everything I hate about music - writing and creating music is sacred to me and has been a complete life raft through times that could have destroyed me so when it is manipulated and played with like a toy as so often happens in this industry the impact it can have can be monumental - and it was for me as those songs blew up - it completely destroyed me - but of course the person in the spotlight that everyone sees is who will get the blame.
I have thankfully since rebuilt my life by getting as far away from this music, scene and this name as possible - finally making the music I've always set out to which you are more than welcome to follow - I now go by my middle name Derek [aside from on these specific profiles as I want them completely separated] and my new project is Route 500 - I will put all the new links below - as I'm sure you can understand it's been incredibly challenging starting again from the ground up so so any engagement, support, likes, subscribes, retweets, comments... etc make a really huge huge difference.
This version will return to all streaming sites this Friday [June 9] - it was a choice made easy purely because there is still so much music up that shouldn't be but is out of my control and I have distanced enough to not care anymore - I know this will make a lot of you happy and I'm pleased for that - just know that the person that created what you love - is not me x

I remember when I first listened to this version, it was beyond words. That year was a hard one for me, and Foreign Hands appeared to to me just as an epiphany, a "hold on, please". And I held it.
Some years later I couldn't find the first version, just the new one, and it was... Strange? It wasn't as good, it was better. There was more soul, but I missed the old one. Still, I stuck with your version, and, Jesus, there were sometimes it hit me hard 😂 With the time it became my new favorite, over the old version. Now, that I can hear both, I'm... Idk, I'm just overwhelmed with joy. This might be one of my happiest nights. Thanks for being this awesome artist! Wherever and whenever you are, know that you saved someone.

I remember the day you released the new "George's version" and that right there immediately appealed to me more than this version because I could tell it was much more personal. The instrumentation in your version is much more crisp and better sounding, which made it one of my favorite songs from the old project. While it's cool the old version will be back, you won't find me listening to it. Appreciate the insight and even though some of that music in the past may not have been released in the way you wanted, know that it is impactful still to people like me. As a musician and producer I can understand you in some points. I think the main thing is that the core of these songs is there, the idea, lyrics and harmonies are there. Arrangement is so little in all of this... It is just a studio work so you can reach more people with you message, which is also very important. For me all these song sounds great and I can see you talent in there no matter is it studio version or acoustic. Keep it up, man, no matter how and when!
