      Just a funny observation. I think it's funny when people say things like, "don't lose your faith in humanity" or "this restores my faith in humanity." I always thought that humans are the least trustworthy and unpredictable force on the planet. We invented things like modern warfare and nuclear bombs. Humans are always looking for new ways to scam, rob, cheat, and steal from eachother. Humans destroy the enviroment and kill eachother and animals indiscriminately. If anything humans should be the least thing we should have faith in, lol. I mean seriously think about it lol. Faith by definition is complete trust in someone or something "Faith in humanity" is such a dumb cliche, lol. I guesss that is why most world religions require faith in abstract ideas and spiritual figures, because to have faith in a fellow human is just dumb when you look at the history and data that suggests people are the least thing you should have faith in lol. Don't take this as a personal attack or anything. It is just something I have been thinking about lately, because it has become an annoying internet trend recently, to post a video of a person giving a snake a bottle of water or something with the quote, " tHiS cOmPlEtElY rEsToReS mY fAiTh In HuMaNiTy🤪"

    Thank you for being vulnerable like this with us. Glad you're ok. I'd like to offer correction for some things you said, in hopes that it'll give more understanding. I'm sorry you went through what you did, and you're a badass for still being ok afterwards. I'm not defending the behavior, just trying to explain how it can happen. Mental illness isn't a choice, and it's not about responsibility. I've had times where i couldn't sleep for several days even though i tried SO hard to fall asleep. Panic attacks being triggered by starting to doze off are a living nightmare. I've had horrible thoughts about people that i love and care deeply about because of things like this. Some illnesses are a lot more intense than others, and you end up with situations like what happened to you. That's why it's so important to make sure your friends are taking care of themselves and seeking the help that they need. If they're not, then just being the one voice telling them to do the right things can change a lot. I got professional help after one person cared enough to help me through the process, and it has changed my whole life. Check on your friends. Don't stigmatize mental illness, because that only makes it harder to get help. Trauma and mental illness are a physiological illness of the brain, so why don't we treat it as such? Love you, Nigel. Sorry to hear this, and im glad your OK.
    People who are in this mind set, they cant take care of themselves, and they are not thinking about what they need to do to help themselves. Him attacking you is not him being a bad friend, it is him having a mental breakdown, and he would have done this to anyone, whether friend, foe, stranger or loved one. This is why people need to be committed, because when you are in this mind set, you don't ask for, nor seek help. It is up to friends and family to make sure they get the help they need, before they end up killing someone or themselves. I totally understand how you would never want to be any where near this person ever again, since i have been in a very similar situation. I hope he gets the help he needs to be a functional member of society, and so he doesn't hurt anyone else. I also hope you are able to fully heal yourself, and dont have this in the back of your mind every time a friend walks up behind you.

    I'm glad you were able to get your words together for a much needed talk about dangerous circumstances with people that don't take care of themself. It doesn't matter how long you've known someone. The minute they stop keeping a healthy mental, they can become the worst possible person to be around and interact with. Coming from someone who has been THAT person, you were right to put him on blast. Keep your head on straight fellas. Its more important than you could ever know.

    Man thats a crazy story. I have had the last year dealing with a situation which is non-violent and it has deeply affected my self-confidence but to be physically attacked and get given death threats is a whole new level. I can't imagine what thats like as I have had severe anxiety etc about seeing the person involved in my situation. I have had to change my whole skating schedule to make sure I'm not at the park when he is and I dread him turning up when I'm there. The couple of times that he has I can feel my whole body shaking its horrible so I can't even being to imagine what you must be dealing with. I hope you can push through and get better and put this behind you.

    This doesn't sound like a psychopath. Psychopaths are manipulative, cold and calculating.. (watch the Showtime series Dexter). This sounds like a schizophrenic, or some other serious mental illness that leads to a detachment to reality. Heavy drug abuse maybe? Glad you were able to protect yourself and stay safe.

    • @TechX1320

      @monicaChrisAhn Or learn about psychology the proper way.
      But Dexter is sort of like a "Psychopaths for dummies".. in terms of the non intellectual types who don't like to study the theory behind the concepts. It's the central theme behind the entire series, not just Dexter himself but the people he encounters or contends with or his narration and inner monologue. It's not the best solution, but it's better than nothing for someone who isn't interested in text books or case studies.

      @Jonw8222 2 роки тому

      @@Shellshockd85 So is Saving Private Ryan, but it's still the most realistic depiction of the D-Day landings ever depicted on film. WW2 veterans who watched it in the theaters had to walk out, because it was too much for them to cope with.
      The vampire myth is another example of fiction depicting reality.. in terms of explaining some of the aspects of a psychopath. Dark, no reflection in the mirror, but will suck your blood.
      Another example.. would be like an advanced AI robot that he is super intelligent, but cold emotionless and soulless. As depicted in the movie "Ex-Machina". See the ending. Or Tom Cruise in the movie "Collateral", less robotic but very intelligent and very sharp. As opposed to the 5 year old perception that anyone who gets really angry is "psycho".

    Hey Nigel, my mom fell victim to panic attacks every 1-2 days after covid lockdowns began and after a few months of taking her to the ER when it would happen, we finally came across a doctor who prescribed her Ativan to stop the panic attacks dead in its tracks. It was like a miracle drug. It’s not a long term medication but it was definitely extremely helpful and gave her hope that if and when those panic attacks came, she had something in her back pocket to help control them. That alone gave her the tools she needed to overcome her anxiety and after a month, her panic attacks stopped completely. Talking to your doctor about Ativan for your panic attacks, it worked wonders for that. Thanks for sharing this story with us man 🙏🏼
