🤣🤣🤣 OMG! Half way through your video and I was like… wait, your opponent looked different 🤣🤣🤣 and I burst into big laugh when you said you got your mom to help! What a GREAT MOM to help out here!! Anyway, love your videosss and still need time to digest them! Phew! 👏👏👏👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
You are going to bring my game to a new level. I have yet to see any other coaching on pickleball as concise as your instructions. So glad I found you! Thanks for the time spent to share these tips. I was playing at Proshot and saw you filming a couple courts down. I was star struck! Didn’t know you were from Jersey! Good luck on your 2024 tour.
Thank you Tanner! I feel like every time one of your videos pops up on my feed I just can’t say no… they are always packed with awesome teaching! Thank you!!!
Good stuff, Tanner. I like that you showed us the drills at the end -- and explained what we should be seeing out of our peripheral vision. Now to put it to practice! What part of the continent are you in that your first partner got cold? (Here, at 7,400 ft in the Rockies, it was a toasty 6 degrees this morning!)
I noticed that during this drill you'll sometimes take a step back with one foot away from the kitchen so that you can dink the ball back. Is that typically how you'll play the match, or was that only because this drill was about dinking and you were trying to avoid taking it out of the air? I'd love to learn more about how you move your feet at the kitchen line generally. Great video and good luck on the tour... definitely been a subscriber for a while and am glad I signed up :)!
Tanner love the videos I get a bit confused when you teach speeding up balls off the bounce but say don’t speed up balls off the bounce to win 5.0 tournaments . Can you explain the nuance or when and how
Great question! Typically, players have not got enough reps or know the proper time when to speed balls up off the bounce. Often leading them to errors and mistakes. At the 5.0 level, your opponent will generally either miss a dink or do something that isn't the best decision. So I recommend just dinking until you can attack balls out of the air since it is a much greater chance for success. Save off the bounce for rec games, then in tournaments when you are REALLY comfortable with it.
Thank you!!! I always afraid to make mistakes, so I played safe, ding back instead of speed up. Will try to apply speed up. Thank you again. Yes!! MOM plays pickleball too! YAY!!!!
What the hell Tanner you need a practice partner that's not going to get the chili Willies and take off on you while you're trying to make the PRO circuit, what is she going to do at a tournament if it gets a little cold ,quit?? You need to send her to pickelball boot camp, she gets no movie and dinner.

Too funny hahaha!!! Thank you so much :)
I always speed up straight to the body hoping for a body bag and usually just get slammed back. This video really helps to understand why.
Yep!
I can't wait to try these tips out on my friends today. Thanks for another amazing video, Tanner!
Glad you like them!

Thank you! And yes this was just for the drill. I can definitely create a video in the future about footwork, I get a lot of questions on that.

Glad you enjoyed it!
How do you defend against a good speed up towards your awkward spot?
Scorpion, or sliding!
@@tanner.pickleball sometimes speedup is too quick for me to defend 😭
