7:51 KILLS ME 😂😂 this song came out my senior year in high school. (2014) and I also felt like this was speaking to my generation! Glad you liked the song.
Same here
Came out in 2012... even says so in the video at the very end lol. Regardless tho, all generations need to hear this message.
Dude, he didn't just light up GenZ. He lit up all of Millennials and some Xers too.
And I'm all for it.
(Millennial here)
He's attacking everyone who has ever been your age and followed the instructions delivered by mainstream hip-hop since 1990
Thank god i found the Underground in the 90's
This song is from 2012. Crazy,y how it's still relevant!!!!
Not sure if you took a break,or,YT stopped giving me notifications.
He stopped for a bit
My kids played this for me almost, damn 15 years ago!? At the time, he was speaking to younger millenials, who are around 30 now, and I don't think he was specifically targeting the hip hop genre as a whole, but the trend of excess inspired by it,
I know he was speaking to those specific people, not saying it's wrong to enjoy it, just trying to point out, dreams take work, God doesn't make miracles for us, because he already gave us the tools to make our own.
Was gonna say a similar thing, when this came out it was Millennials, not Gen Z. I’m one of the oldest zoomers out there and I was just entering high school when this came out. The youngest were still filling diapers. Not sure that was the target of this song.
Edit: that said, it’s not like these problems have gotten any better since then and it’s easily still applicable today
I mean let’s be honest, this message can still relate
Marcus Hopsin speaks his mind. Thats the whole namesake. I think the point here is that the black community seems very fueled by hip-hop music. The genre used to be about your story, your struggles, your grace and your falls. Now it's just a business model.
The issue is that hip-hop glorifies horrid behaviour, and criminal activity. And as you said in the video many young black children just think thats the music they are "supposed" to listen to. But the issue is effecting everyone of every color and every race.
Children listen to hip-hop, see the rappers flashing cash, and try and reapeat the rappers' lives to achieve the same result. Hopsin is saying that the drugs, the theivery, the sexual misconduct of hurting young naive girls, being super quick to fight people....
It's all tied back to hip-hop glorifying those behaviours. It's highly unfortunate that black people fall victim to this moreso than others, but black culture seems to embrace hip-hop as a life plan instead of a musical interest.
I think thats what Marcus wanted to point out. It's that sometimes black people are their own worst enemy. And he wants people to realise that so that they can evolve enough to escape this trap they seem to be caught in. 😄
yeah now change that hip-hop part with social media and you got the current generations crap
I love how you can hear Eminem in hopsin’s lyrics.
ill mind 7 is another absolute banger, it's primarily about his struggle with religion. Another one of my favorites, check it out! Edit: changed 6 to 7, got the numbers wrong.
Agreed
4:30 there's anger there yes, but it's only there because he cares.
I think you took out some singular lines and got offended instead of listening to Hopsin’s entire message. He obviously doesn’t hate the entire rap genre since he’s literally rapping about doing better for younger generations. He’s spot on if you don’t pick out lines and listen to the entire rap.
HOPSIN aint no joke
This song was 11 years ago .. nothing to do with now, but it definitely still works with todays bs .. 😅
this was made in the millennial era when i was younger but i just see Gen Z as the more potent form of millennial.
The end when he talks about rap. He was talking about the industry at large. They basically shadow banned him.
am I a psycho - Hopsin, Tech N9ne, B.O.B.
you won't regret it
You don’t have to be a product of your generation! 💯 edit: Also it’s so funny whilst most of the younger gen. always feels a type of way about the artists 👁👁in their vids. Like Tom M’s, & Hopsins etc. However us older people don’t get bothered. 🤣But you youngsters (not you jojo, just your age group in general) don’t even flinch at the obvious evils via the Grammy Awards shows. Ugh 😩 lol I didn’t even know who that “Unholy” dude Sam was until seeing the clip of the ritual lol on that award show. I stopped watching yrs ago. Lol I’m just ranting. You are a smart young man! Great reaction.😂💙👍🏼 Hopsin is one of a kind!
I would suggest a reaction to Purge by Hopsin
Because rap is no longer what it was and has turned into a mess that does nothing but push people towards drugs and violence. I am 50 years old and you should know that I no longer recognize this style of music because it is totally transformed from its original purpose. We are very lucky with the new generation of independent singers who bring rap to its true value.
Lol sorry to say he wasnt talking about you at the time. 12 years ago. Yet it seems to ring truer lately
Yeah my man, Hopsin is just Hopsin, he plays by his own rules and he has some justification in doing so given his past with Ruthless Records after Easy-E passed away. If you also want real truth slaying Hip-Hop check out Samson, Chris Webby and even HED-PE! You wont be disappointed! Cheers fam!
Your generation? It was aimed more at mine. Millenials. This joint is over a decade old
are you in movies i swore iv seen you in movies
Please do Ill mind 7
Keep in mind, this is probably talking to an earlier generation.
Also Ill Mind 7 is a great one. About his struggle with religion.
CAN YOU PLEASE REACT TO - Real Mind of Mysonne (Ill Mind of Hopsin Remix)
You Should Try Reacting To “Best Of Me” By “The Starting Line”
Or “Incomparable” By “Dead By April”
Hopsins (alone with me )…( I’ll mind of Hopsin 7) ( sexy cyber) ( your house) if you wanna feel bad about bad parenting… lol … a personal request is nothing to do wit my dude hop.. but Jessie Reyes and Eminem if you ain’t heard any of them yet would be koo.
Do 6-9 of I'll mind💪🏼
Pablo Picasso is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should react to Aesop Rock, he is next level! None Shall Pass is a sick song
Ill mind #7
This song reminds me of "The Rad Mind of Yahzick" also a good rap song by somebody underground
More Hopsin #7
ill mind 7
He reminds me of Eminem.
I know you love rap, and i love me a good message in rap form, but you arent the risk, you have a solid set of morals and a critical mind ... but some people are sheep, it goesin their ears and rewires their brains as to what's appropriate behavior. The subconscious mind is a powerful and dangerous thing 😌
Hopsin kumbaya
Hopsin is lit!! 👋 Cool reaction can I request #hollyweird by rapper nick nittoli it's so dope
you misunderstood, brother, it was a metaphor for today's rap, that is, for the rubbish that plays on the radio and is in the top as successful songs but in reality they are rubbish.
