So good to see and hear this legend tracking some vocals. Would have been interesting to here how he sounded raw in the room, but that's beyond the scope of this video.
More workflow videos like this. Even if you only record yourself seeing the process is really helpful. The mutual respect between them is awesome to see. I'm sure the results will be awesome because of it. Both working together to make the best thing they can.
Very nice to see a nueman 67 up against the shure sm7 in a metal setting! Either one would work with Ihsahn voice. I have had incredible results with the TLM102 for black metal/fry screams on my voice. It beat the usual sm58 and the sm7b. 🤷♂️
I do agree with you and which is why A/B is really important, however it's all in the details at this level. If you get a sound thats 5% better on the vocals, 5% better on the guitars, the bass etc it all adds up and makes the end product really polished.
I use those headphones, it's totally fine. The amount of audio coming out of them is so low, and I bet they feel way better for tracking vocals because you can properly hear yourself in the room
@@BrofUJu I hate recording with closed headphones, and I think most vocalists do, so much so than you usually only use 1 speaker, meaning that you end up with spill in any case
Often lyrics are written in the studio at the time of recording. Even if they’re not, it’s just more comfortable to have them readily available in case they forget a line or word. Ya know, human memory isn’t always super reliable.
I never expected this from Jonathan Davis. For the 1st time in years I’m excited about new Korn.
couldn't be any more on point 🥲
same reaction the first time I saw the thumbnail.

Ihsahn is my favorite. The perfect blend of clarity and vocal distortion for me.

Amazing vocals
The rolling R at 14:40 are soooo good wow
holy shit yeah thanks for pointing that out
Doing metal vocals is always humbling. Ihsahn kills it tho
I'd pay for the whole video recording of the session from beginning to end.
Awesome! Man Bogren always manage to create amazing stuff! Really cool vocals! Nice video!

this is obsessing over quite insignificant differences, I bet on A\B test no one would be tell such differences
yeah, lets trust the guy noone's ever heard of (you) and not the professional artist with a 30 year career.

Any chance this video set will be up for sale again?
Bro I fuckin love this channel 🔥
Makes you wonder why he never does this type of vocals in Korn.
Killer video!
I too would have died of a cough attack, followed by a succession of short sneezes. It seems that there is a flaw in my neuronal circuitry.
Gonna need to know the song name ASAP.

What headphones is Isahn using?
@@The_AbsurdisttSennheiser HD 600 or a version of that! I use them for all my mixes they're very flat and detailed, love em
Ihsahn doesn’t know his own lyrics?😒

Why rely on memory and risk wasting a potential great take
Part of the process. Sometimes they even change some stuff right before a take just cause it didn't work or something better came up.
Have you ever.... Written and recorded a track in your life?
Welcome to the studio world. When you've just written them, it's way different than when you've toured 100 times singing them.
