I would guess that units do not update their kill count if they are inside of a shuttle. The high templar had already been loaded back in before the psi storm killed anything, then when unloaded again it showed 0 kills. In warcraft III by contrast, units are still present on the map and at their previous location when loaded into zeppelins, they just become 'hidden' and don't interact with anything, but still count all their buffs / debuffs / regen / etc
Also as "caster" units without an attack it doesn't start with a kill count until you do something with it - if you click an observer for instance it will not have one because it can't get one, but if you click a Sci vessel, again it won't have one til you eraser with it and it accrues kills
As someone who plays a lot of fastest map 1v1 and 3v3 (16-0 as protoss and 26-1 as random race), zerg lost the moment he made units at the start instead of more hatches and sunkens--zerg are actually the hardest to beat in fastest if they turtle and defend for the first portion of the game, since once they get enough hatcheries, their remax is impossible to keep up with and when they tech switch, all they need to do is make one building while protoss and terran must make a fleet of new buildings--those lings on the map and drone scout cost him the game. If you are solo zerg in fastest, always use overlords to scout the different bases and just macro with static defense. If you want to rush in fastest as zerg, you almost always have to go 4 pool (make two drones and an overlord while you wait for spawning pool to complete and you will have three larva right as pool finishes) and you need to get lucky in that the enemy spawns almost to the adjacent base and also that the enemy goes greedy and not defensive (not advised, unless you're in 3v3 where you know an enemy base is likely to be right next to you, depending on which fastest map you play). In fastest, terrain is the worst, while they can survive the easiest due to the choked front (make a wall and tank/bunker it), zerg can make sunkens and spores which cost no unit supply and protoss can make cannons, also no unit supply, and surround the entire enemy base, if terrain tries to move out, they can't defend and attack well enough in the late game, so long as the protoss or zerg keeps growing and building static defense around the terrain base and units at home and in center of map, it's impossible for terrain to win the late game (with "perfect" play), since they have no static anti ground--cannons, sunkens/spores > turrets alone.

Love this cast Arty, I would like to see more variety including classic maps, BGH, etc. Also, do you ever cast FFA or team games? Seeing those different game styles at the highest level would be awesome, love how many sub-genres of Broodwar exist to be explored.

I think in the original FMP, there were only 50 stacked mineral patches (not 200). It's possible that has changed. But it's a lot, at any rate. I was surprised to see that the geysers in this map do not overlap. I remember overlapping geysers back in the day.
I'm happy fastest is getting some attention, the more variety the more attractive the game is but still as a og Slayer's_Boxer fan the micro and army moves are the most entertaining factors for me (especially on beautiful terrain/maps), even the standard StarCraft nowadays it's a bit too macro oriented for my liking especially at pro level

Fastest is very tricky early game because people can rush with much more powerful armies or they can build up their economy ridiculous fast and out pace your production quickly so you have to be very careful not to die early, but you can easily fall behind later
i do miss some of the more ab-normal maps in tournaments ... i think last year there was one of those called "optimiser" which was as close to meta but not exactly a "meta" map ... would be cool to have more like these (similar to how say aoe2 has arena as an unrthodox map or nomad or deathmatch) would be cool to see an islands-style map played by pros
Also Arty is terran... Sorry i dont see arty defending or pulling workers every 1 minute vs drops or defending super pressure from toss with cannons plus invisible etc.
The kill count isn't shown if the templar hasn't gotten any kills yet. The one that got kills died and the one that missed got picked up by the shuttle.

It's not even a newbie map, no map is a newbie map, only the person playing it. Every map requires skill to win. Fastest can improve your macro mechanics and it has some very unique strategy that isn't really found on regular maps. On fastest I learned quickly that you can't just build a bunch of turrets ,spores , or cannons and think that's enough defense, a guy rushed for a couple corsairs and a shuttle with high templars and the cannons all targeted the Corsair while the shuttle was able to drop the high templars close enough to land some storms on my workers....I never forget moments like that where I learn a new move. Been using it ever since 😂
I've seen zergs put rings of sunkens around their minerals, if they have enough they can 1 shot the units that unload from the shuttle and it's pretty effective, tho a really fast player can often get the storm out as the sunken's attacks are still animating. Definitely a tricky map to play, but I agree with Arty the protoss have a clear advantage with the potency of their drops, tho tank, firebat and lurker drops are all viable. Muta bombing to take out the main base is also somewhat common and effective
