American here who has never encountered durian except on the Internet. For a long time I didn't think I would try it due to reputation. Then an Asian friend told me that the smell is like a funky cheese as well as the taste, sort of. I love funky cheese and smell has not yet put me off. That was the key I needed. When I come in contact I will indeed try it.

just tried the fruit before watching the video i had been very curious about the fruit even so curious to eat the middle of the seed and thought you know it might not had been a good idea to do so but after sitting here and watching your video i did a sigh of relief thank you! and i do have to say the taste is different not nasty its like onion with honey its also very smooth! its a beautiful kind of different! thank you for sharing! much love from the rocky mountain's of Colorado :D

Word of caution, the seeds can be toxic and potentially carcinogenic. Apparently you're supposed to cook them
