These 8 bit songs and sound effects bring back memories the same as actual old songs on the radio...God bless the 80s!!
it's 2 am in 1982. hot summer night. I am sitting in my room with the glow of the TV playing video games with the window open. I can hear crickets and the atari.
Me and my brother spent an entire summer playing Asteroids on a black and white TV in the basement. Luvved every minute of it.
As someone born in the 2000s, I find it fascinating to see games with simple controls. The concept of creating a game that can be easily played and enjoyed is something that really captures my interest making game as a hobby.
Hard to describe but the appeal of the Atari was "pick up and play" as long as you didn't make the average game to complicated anyone could come by pick up a controller and use basic common sense to play, it is one of the many reasons the 5200 and 7200 failed to connect the way the 2600 did.
Greatings fellow 50+ year olds. Loved my 2600 back in the day.😆
Estoy de acuerdo! Todavía conservo mi Atari 2600 VCS de 1981 en excelentes condiciones... Saludos cordiales!
Back then when I had Atari in 1981-1983, it felt like a grown up man who drives a RR Phantom these days.
Old is gold.
@@ASTR0TALKSPHILOSOPHY
For me , it is. People used to have big hearts and care for each other. Life was simple. 😉
@@AHMAD.ALAMOUDI your childhood is going to be the easiest, oh, back then there were the most mafias ever and the most crime ever, the tech we have today helps to fight crime way more than it did back then. just saying.
@@ASTR0TALKSPHILOSOPHY
I live in Saudi Arabia. We don't have mafia. We have a super low crime rate. Cutting criminals and murderes necks off and theives have their hands cut off by the Sword as a punishment, teaches people some discipline.
It's amazing what they did with so little memory. 2600 was the real deal back those days!
That's the assembly language for you, must have been so difficult to program these games
These were really good old days, the older i get the more i miss them.
My cousin and I used to play Combat all the time on Atari! We loved the tanks that were invisible until you started shooting and we loved the shells that would bounce around the screen.
I was born in London in 83 my first computer was the 2600, good times and very much missed 💯❤
I am a 'kid' of the Atari era. Donkey Kong was released in 1982. Missile Command was released in 1981. I believe Mario Bros. was released in 1984 - but not entirely certain.
Loved watching this… i’m thinking of getting a new atari flashback !
I had every game you showed! Loved pitfall!
🤩🤩🤩 THESE GAMESWERE OUT WHEN I WAS A KID! I WISH GOOGLE PLAY HAD THESE
Solid list! I also liked the games from ACTIVISION. Decathlon, Skiing, and Boxing were great.
Damn I think I just had a flashback of me sitting on shag carpet eating Mac 'n' Cheese Vegging out on Atari.
🥰When life was simpler. At 41 I miss being a kid. It was so easy
For those of who played these games when they were new, we don’t have much time left.
Atari was my childhood.
Atlantis looked nice.. Activision were incredible, what they achieved on the VCS! River Raid and Pitfall, remarkable games.
Illuminated Skeletons Atlantis is very good.... has a great 2 player co-op mode
I've just played it via www.playretrogames.com/7434-atlantis - it's superb! Beautiful how they did the multicoloured spaceships, and there are some alarming sound effects as well!
i loved atari 2600 jungle hunt was my favorite game
The music is totally distracting, you shouldn't have covered over the game sounds
I grew up with the Nintendo ds but sometimes I prefer these kind of games...
Games de ese entonces eran y seran valiosos para quienes lo disfrutamos POR QUE RECORDAR ES VOLVER A VIVIR!!
Totalmente de acuerdo con usted. Uff, que bonitos recuerdos con el Atari... Saludos!
I got an Atari 2600 right when it came out. Was both amazing and pissed me off at the same time. We would go to the arcade and have amazing graphics., and then this was what Pac Man was like at home. lol. But Pitfall was awesome. I think my favorite cartage was MegaMania by Activision.
Well I really had no complaints about 80's games at all although some are challenging, I'm interested in these games
I still play atari to this day and yes I love every minute back then and now
Great list!
We need more! I'd like to see Yars Revenge, Combat, Berzerk, Adventure, ET phone home, Raiders of the Lost Ark. 😎👍❤️
In Pitfall for the Atari 2600, I always run to the left. It is way easier that way.
I remember my selfish causin that didn't allow me to play this game in childhood
My favs were Pit Fall, Enduro and Defender
Such satisfying 8 bit games!
They have such good controls, nice graphics, layouts and catchy tracks and sound effects
Astroids and space invaders
Love those until today wow 👌
gotta love the Atari 2600 i never own one as a kid but as adult now i can see why it's the best
My God 38 years when I was a kid
Dang i used to sit in front of my tv and play the living crap out of these games 😂😭😭😭😭😭 these sounds bring back good memories.
Jogava muito o Atari nos anos 80 , saudações Atari show 👍
should never forget this video game because they were produced for them several unforgettable classics.
Now I know, Mario bros was originated in Atari before he went to Family Computer.
Which music theme plays in the beginning plz?
Yars Revenge should be on the list.
some1 need to invent time machine travelling i would go back there
You can get all the arcade games on MAME .
Pitfall was my favorite.
I remember every single game there 🤣🤣🤣 omg I must be old
What made vid games like these was that they were new. All anyone did was play pinball and board games in those days. I think Pong was the first. It was a viral fad back then.
Chooper comand.moon patrol.hero que recuerdos de mi niñes
Demon Attack was awesome!
Great work regards my friend
Really surprised joust wasn’t listed

What was the music playing in the background called? Please send me a link.
That Donkey Kong looked more like Coleco Vision to me?
In 1980, the space invaders came and looked exactly like that. Praise Sir Clive Sinclair xxx SO`FIA
What is the sound track on the last few seconds of the vedio
Does anyone know the name of the song that is playing in the background? I really like it👌👌👌
Great list but consider removing the music. Let the original sounds do the talking :-) thanks for the upload.
Increible casi lloro de recordarlos, Buen video
Pitfall seems hardcore
Phoenix was actually more fun than Demon Attack
I’ve played all but three of the games on this list. Pac-Man was my favorite.
Good game.
why does everyone on youtube think they have to wallpaper their video with tacky music
Music in This vídeo is really necessaire?
Was the intro song Atari song ? I didn’t recognize it . Could any one of you tell the name if you recognize it
Oloco mano, faltou River Raid , Choper Comando, Comsndo Raid , Enduro, Sea Quest.
Dudeeee!!! What happened with Moon Patrol???
Nice video!Donkey Kong came out in '82 - not '81,
The one I have came out in 1981. It's the same as the one in the video www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-donkey-kong_8011.html
@@alloneword7427 @Alloneword trust me - this never hit store shelves until later in '82. If memory serves, October '82 - give or take a month. I was in 6th grade at the time. Atari was at the center of my world! Seems everyone received a copy that Christmas - that and Demon Attack!
have you ever played an atari before?
The Foundation
was there an Atari original, before the 2600?
Asteroids, years' revenge
El de jungle hunt,lo preste y nunca me lo regresaron, eso me pasó por fiado.
Jaja, sí. Yo también presté un par de juegos, como Enduro y Star Master, y nunca los pude volver a recuperar, triste..:-( Saludos!

Not to be rude but where the hell is Adventure, Yars revenge, and frogger? Just asking
I remember being so disappointed at how crappy Pac-Mac was on Atari.
I.love Atari 2600
Ian Pakistani
Yes sir very good video is like

PAC MAN?!
PAC-MAN was awful on 2600.. what about moon patrol, yars revenge, defender....
I was born way too late😥
I feel like when our graphics were limited our game creates had to be so much more creative.
👍🏻
بتوفيق ألله 👍🌹
It too hard to play with joystick from 70s!!
It's really easy. There is nothing a modern joystick would give that would make it easier.
No pong tho
My brother and I had a an Atari 2600 but I only remember playing football on it. I played all the games shown here but in the arcade in the early 80's. In those days my brother worked at a locally owned arcade and after they closed we'd stay all night long and play all our favorite console games. Those were the days... we really thought we were somethin' being able to open all the games and play for FREE. Life would later get more complicated but back then it was simple and life seemed like it would last forever.
