- Dynamic positioning system (DP) is a computer-controlled system to automatically maintain a vessel's position and heading by using its own propellers and thrusters and it is manned or being operated by DPO or Dynamic Positioning Operator they . Offshore DP vessels are the vessels hired by Oil and Gas Companies because these types of vessels have the capabilities to carrying out various Subsea Operations and Installation for Oil and Gas exploration as these vessels are able to maintain the heading and position ideal for various offshore subsea operations and Installations for Oil and Gas. In this video, I have shown the Dynamic Positioning Operations and and the various equipment involved during the operations and Subsea Installations.

@edRAG78 good day and happy to hear from you. Bale sa gusto mong mag dpo sa nakikita ko you are in a right track kasi nsa PSV ka at kung meron DP equipment ang barko mo. Kug meron DP ang barko mo na yan try mong mag orbserve sa mga ginagawa nila sa bridge lalo na kapag nag alongside sila sa rig or platform and during maneuvering when using DP para magkaroon ka ng idea kung ano ang sistema ng DP at paano ito gagamitin. Furthermore, kapag nakit aka ng mga opisyal mo na interested ka sa DP for sure magtatanong yun sila sayo kung meron ka na bang DP training at pag nagtanong sabihin mo sa kanila sa wala pa at gusto mo sana magkaroon ng training in such a way bibigyan ka ng kapitan mo or chiefmate mo ng recommendation na mag training ng DP then baka ishoulder ng kompanya mo ang training course. BAle 5 days yung DP basic meron yan sa Norwegian Training center sa MOA, IMOSTI, and EXACT pero mahal yung training na ito kaya mas ok sana kung kompanya nyo ang magpapadala sayo sa training at sila ang mag babayad. After ng BASIC training sasampa ka as DP trainee for 30 days familiarization phase or more depending in Nautical Institute regulations then after your familiarization phase bale kukuha ka naman ng DP advance course for 5 days and after that sasampa ka naman para tapusin ang watchkeeping requirements na 180 days .

It’s my first time seeing a DP vessel bridge and it looks so damn complex compared to other vessels, I’m currently joining a Non-DP PSV in order to complete my cadetship, are there any tips you mind giving me before joining and taking any of the DP courses?
@Gabriel Rosales thank you very much for keeping in touch. With regards to your request about tips before vessel joining and you have mentioned that Is it gonna be your first time to join the vessel? If it is, it will be a lot of things to go through. Usually I have my own checklist that I been following ever since .
1. Checklist on all the Documents you need to have for the travel and you need onboard to serve your contract ( very important).
2. Checklist on your clothings you need to bring onboard.
3. Toiletries, medicine, and food supplements for the whole durations of your contract.
4. Notes and logbooks you needed to go through during to complete your cadetship training.
With regards to your question about taking a DP Courses.
1. Probably you need to speak to your superior officers onboard that you are interested to take DP training course so that they can send a recommendation letter to your office and your office will send you to an accredited DP training center.
2. When you are onboard keep on LEARNING as much as you can and DO NOT hesitate to ASK if you do not know or something you need to clarify.

Regarding sa offshore training, medyo marami rami pong mga training ang kukunin and to mention medyo costly and worth ng training kapag ikaw lng po ang magbabayad. And regarding employment nman po palagay ko fair naman ang labanan between deepsea or running vessels and offshore vessels when it comes to employment horizon. Yung offshore ngayon pa lng bumabawi from Oil and Gas crisis then followed by Pandemic. To admit, meron lng po difference sa sahod pero directly proportional naman po kung ano ang rank nyo sa barkong sinasakyan. Dito sa offshore isa sa nagustuhan ko po ay maigsi lng ang kontrata at karamihan naka rotation po kayo kaya may idea ka na kailan ang uwi mo at kailan ang susunod mong sampa. Sana nakatulong po ang informations na binigay ko sa inyo. Maraming salamat po ulit.

@kennethperez974 good morning po sir focus on reading the DP operations manual Kasi kahit kaming dpo na kapag may mga bagong operations babalik at babalik parin kami sa DP manual to read kung ano ang gagawin at mga settings appropriate for the operations. Sa PSV sir less Kasi ang DP operations more on transit and loading operations so ang obserbahan mo at PAG aralan mo rin ang ship maneuvering or driving Kasi magagamit mo rin Yan balang Araw kapag nasa construction vessel ka mapunta. What I did Nung ako ay dp trainee pa lng ay may dedicated notes ako for DP operations lng talaga tapos may mga drawing pa akong ginagawa na mas maintindihan ko Ang settings na kailangan iset up kapag kailangan ko para mas madali maintindihan what I am sharing to you is make your OWN NOTES to suit your way of learning na mas madali mong maintindihan. What company is it? Do you have JDPO on board? I have full DP and I would like to change company but I have only expierience from AHT vessels...

Bale unang una try mong mag apply sa mga agency or shipping companies na merong offshore vessels as AB kasi kapag kailangang kailangan talaga nila ipapadala ka nila sa training center para magtraining ng offshore safety courses medyo may kamahalan kasi ang mga trainings sa offshore kung ikaw ang mag shoulder nito at kung wala kang sure na barkong masasakyan. Mas maigi muna subukan mo muna maag apply kung tatanggapin nila ang Credentials mo.
