- After Joe Biden was projected to win Michigan, the Trump campaign filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the state from counting remaining ballots. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson tells MSNBC's Ari Melber the state will continue to count every vote. Benson called the lawsuit 'meritless' and said it was ‘an attempt to confuse and obfuscate what actually is a very transparent, secure process.’ Aired on 11/04/2020.

@BG Serious question: If you find video evidence of people transferring containers of casted ballots the night of an election to a central facility to be sorted and counted as "suspicious", then how do you imagine all of those ballots cast at the various polling stations around the county are tabulated?
@BG simply not true at all, there has been total transparency during the count, you can even watch a live stream of count with a Dem & Rep representative watching count.
@BG in some states they don't allow mail in votes to be counted until election day, they also have mail in ballots post dated before or on election Day to be counted after the votes of those cast in person. This is normal practise and legal. To your other point about ballot counters not being allowed back in, it's made up BS, there is a Dem & Rep representative watching at all times not to mention being streamed live. They deserve our thanks and a big round of applause, regardless of any outcome, for their sacrifice, diligence, and integrity.

They have to obey the laws laid down by their state governments, and can be prevented from hiring enough personnel by local, county, and state governments. Most all of these states we've had to wait upon were restricted to only counting ballots after the start of election day. (Not sure just what Alaska's excuse is, with its tiny population.)
In states with large population centers, that can unduly lengthen the time needed to count all the ballots. In the future, expect most states to enact legislation allowing early counting of mail-in and absentee voting, reducing the stress on the system and ensuring more rapid reporting of election results.
Then, of course, the mail-in and absentee voting increased exponentially this year because of COVID-19, which presented additional difficulties for election officials in obtaining the necessary extra funding and resources required to deal with the heavy influx.
It’s embarrassing...to lose gracefully is the sign of a real man’s character.
