Every season has a purpose. It is important to know the purpose, to discern the season, and learn appropriate behavior. Ecclesiastics 3:1, Luke 12:54-56, 1 Chronicles 12:32
What is the wilderness? It is a lack of the tangible presence of God. There are two presences of God (Manifest and Omnipresence). It is also the season when the promises seem distant like you are going away from it and not towards the promises.
Job 23:8-10 Trying to make us mature to handle spiritual darkness. God where are you? Time of Temptation and Testing. Enemy tempts us and tries to get us to quit. God gives us only what we need. Deuteronomy 8:2-3
Wilderness is Gods protection. Wilderness is not Gods punishment or dissapproval, it is not his abandonment, it is not being put on the shelf to be used (God never wastes a moment of our lives), it is not to discourage us.
Okay so God leaves us in the wilderness to help us learn our strength in his perceived absence and just leaves them there for years? You suppose if he was just there for us to comfort and encourage us in our successes as well as our failure like a good parent we could learn these lessons faster.

You can’t shorten wilderness experience God has given you but you can lengthen it.
