I’m never going to pay real money for a bigger inventory or more storage space, deeper pockets, armbands etc. That’s all bullshit. This is what happens when you normalize buying horse armor for $5, Companies will push the boundaries further and further and it took a $250 edition for people to stand up. At least they stood up.
well after 150$ "complete" edition. the problem is of course that the game should be paid per month. but the live service model gets them more money upfront, but once you already have the money upfront it doesn't make sense to service the game because it's just money down the drain, so they come up with ideas on how to get more money.
It wasn't the horse armor that normalized this. It was the extreme backlash to loot boxes. "Gamerz" went so far with that backlash that they were willing to accept basically anything else, and now we have the modern gaming landscape. They fully accepted the other end of the extreme. Oh sure, there's hardly any "gambling" in games now, you see what you get, but in most games, you can't EARN ANYTHING anymore. Everything has to be paid for, even the most miniscule of things, and the prices are getting worse. Remember Call of Duty with the "Kong glove"? You have to buy four $20 bundles to get it. $80 for one piece of shit cosmetic thing. $20 for ANY "bundle" in any game is already ridiculously stupid, but no, spend $80 for our corporate crossover nonsense. ""GAMERZZ" fully embraced this system, they asked and essentially begged for it, now they can't go back and it is only getting worse. Fortnite is a pretty big component to all of this as well, for obvious reasons.
Not to mention, the starting gear you paid for can all be lost in your first few raids from someone cheating or hiding in a bush. Paying an absurd amount of money for something you're going to lose anyway.
"early access to test servers" are genius. Developers used to pay testers , instead they are asking u to pay them to test their product. Let's see how many will line up to "pay to work for them".
The Edge of Darkness Edition is $150 if you buy the unheard Edition you can't just upgrade for the remainder money you have to start over and pretty much pay the whole $250
I feel so scammed out of EOD. they legit stole an included gamemode from EOD players just to stick it into another 100 dollars i have to pay to play it. :/
there is a singleplayer mod for tarkov already if you dont intend to play coop. also you have different profiles to select, f.i. devmode gives you a god mode balaclava and almost infinite money, all quests and so on...
Just how does someone play a game with friends offline other than via a LAN?.. Don't you have to be online to playing a game with "Billy" and "Timmy" who lives in "Not near you"
They could have done a subscription model for 5 bucks a month and earn 10 times as much and have a lot of support. But they had to aim at the existing hardcore playerbase and beg them for more money after giving free marketing for years.
This was a thought out move by BSG. This wasn't a move for the normal gamers. This was a move for the cheaters. Without the EOD edition, cheaters weren't being milked as much everytime a banwave came along. With the Unheard of edition, that shit is gonna be GOLD for hackers and GOLD for BSG. Everytime they perform a banwave, that is a WAVE of money that's gonna come in for BSG when all those banned accounts buy that 250$ edition for everything it offers. The lead developer quite literally gave speeches about this shady ass shit. It is absolutely unredeemable at that point.
It's a shit game in the first place. Bought it years ago and regreted it after trying out. Full of cheaters and sweats. Had a bad time and it was not fun. Shame i couldnt get a refund. Fuck the devs for that. Edit: lesson learnt to buy games on steam so you at least can get a refund.
True. I've played it on-off since 2018. These days you don't stand a chance as a new player. Literally the only players you face are either cheaters or 10 000h gametime sweats. So if someone is tempted to buy this, do not. You will not have a good time, unless you want to dedicate your life to playing fucking Tarkov of all things.
EoD owner for 6 years - nothing surprises me with BSG anymore but this "Unhinged" Edition was a genuine shock. I'm glad they're taking a hammering because it's disgusting and they took us for fools. Haven't even downloaded the latest patch, won't be playing the game again.
They should be sued, because otherwise it will set a precedent. Basically, they are making it so that "DLC Season pass that unlocks all future content" is not a season pass, when you just don't call the new content a DLC but "a feature", so no it's not covered.
I'd only recommend the SPT AKI mod, It made this game fully offline (for free) and is a lot more fun than online PVP.. Get the cheapest standard edition then download SPT AKI, anything else is pointless..
The only explanation that makes sense imo: High attention to details makes development prohibitively expensive. No money left to finish the release version as Arena was the last hope. Microtransactions failed to cover costs: the audience is too grown-up. Had to go back to proven monetisation method of EOD-like pack. No money to pay for PvE servers for all EOD owners. No publisher to support. Can not tell the truth as the creditors would finish the company the next day. Will release an unfinished game to cut costs, lose reputation and will be closed. Maddox Games story repeated.
You can spend $250 on so much more. You could A. Use it for a overpriced mode in a game that'll be dead in a few years because games eventually end Or B. Do literally anything else

I was hardcore into Tarkov. I still love it so much. Dealing with BSG feels like they need the cheaters to continue buying accounts. Fuck you, gimme money. I have 1500 hours in this game and purchased EOD. I quit back in January and have since played 3 matches and all included cheaters and my death. Hatchet machine guns. Anyway for this BSG should go under. They're crooks.
i love the backstabbing for people who paid $150. there is no better way to discourage those kind of people than backstabbing them at every chance you get. now i would like to see the people who do pay 250 get a well deserved backstab.
Tarkov players were fine wtih buying that $150 EOD edition, because they were misled by the marketing that they would not have to pay any extra to experience the full game. And then BSG quietly edited the wordings on their marketing pages, and players found out about that and were naturally pissed. The community was expecting that BSG would start selling a new edition this year, but no one though it would be this expensive and they would lock the PvE mode behind that edition. And the real problem with this is that Tarkov players have nowhere else to go if they want to play shooter game as immersive as this. There have been several games that tried to replicate what Tarkov is doing, but none of them were able last for very long.
I was never really into Escape on Tarkov but after seeing the price for this unheard edition i believe this takes the first spot behind star wars outlaws ultimate edition price

Vagueness is the key here. This is my problem with modern gaming, I'm not going to spend $100 on a package that says "Future DLC free/included"; what dlc? What are you planning to make that I'm spending $100+ on? It just creates a situation like this where they can take advantage and claim that "future dlc" are not their classification of "dlc".
These gaming companies are going crazy! This isn't the only developer that is charging an insane amount of money just to play offline?!?!? Gaming has fallen far indeed! $250!!?!?! WOW!!!
I don't even play this game, And I'm somehow pissed af that they did this.
Thats just wild.
Same here. We’re pissed because it’s complete and utter BS and we can’t allow things like this to take place in gaming. I never play these kinds of games because they usually have pay to win elements. I’m never going to pay real money for a bigger inventory or more storage space, deeper pockets, armbands etc. That’s all bullshit. If paying more money means that you get an advantage over other players, and priority matchmaking, then I’m never even going to consider playing that game. Not even for free.
@@CyraXFactor Really glad i avoided this game. I played Ghosts of Tabor (VR) and absolutely love it. And was gettin close to seeing the game that inspired it.
@@kushkong1339 same here. I’ve been on the fence with Tarkov for years, waiting for it to get out of beta but it never did and now all this. Too many good games out there to waste time on Garbov.
The Unheard Edition is literally unheard of.
😂😂😂 they have to be trolling
This is what happens when you normalize buying horse armor for $5, Companies will push the boundaries further and further and it took a $250 edition for people to stand up.
At least they stood up.
I bet you can buy actual horse armor in real life with 250 bucks.
@@Smawllz but it was the beginning and because no one stopped it it's now going to keep happening
well after 150$ "complete" edition.
the problem is of course that the game should be paid per month. but the live service model gets them more money upfront, but once you already have the money upfront it doesn't make sense to service the game because it's just money down the drain, so they come up with ideas on how to get more money.
So essentially its SPT for 200$, nah ill keep playing with mods and arena.
Greed is what take this industry to hell
“If everyone has priority cue,no one has priority cue”
Not to mention, the starting gear you paid for can all be lost in your first few raids from someone cheating or hiding in a bush.
Paying an absurd amount of money for something you're going to lose anyway.
Sounds like a great way to spend your money. Said no one with a lick of sense.
Man every fucking new AAA game is just an advertisement for why you should buy Helldivers 2.
EFT is hardly new or AAA.
tarkov isn’t new or AAA
I feel so scammed out of EOD. they legit stole an included gamemode from EOD players just to stick it into another 100 dollars i have to pay to play it. :/
there is a singleplayer mod for tarkov already if you dont intend to play coop. also you have different profiles to select, f.i. devmode gives you a god mode balaclava and almost infinite money, all quests and so on...
Just how does someone play a game with friends offline other than via a LAN?.. Don't you have to be online to playing a game with "Billy" and "Timmy" who lives in "Not near you"
7:54 OJ in the back wanting to throw a "But wait!" to Joe 🤣🤣
reminds me of my government's "what more can we tax them for" approach.
the internet has a short memory. People will still pay and nothing will change.
Y'all angry at $250.. I already in disappointed if a Game that still in Beta test charge me more than $50.
When you are on AJ's radar you know you fucked it up...
They did the same thing with EOD considering that you could only do the "coop offline practice matches" if you owned that version of the game smh 🤦
They could have done a subscription model for 5 bucks a month and earn 10 times as much and have a lot of support. But they had to aim at the existing hardcore playerbase and beg them for more money after giving free marketing for years.
The problem with devs like this is that they'll argue it's not pay to win if everybody pays the price of admission
GTA VI Will be $599 on release. 700 for deluxe game of the year edition. I'm calling it.
That's for the 1 year subscription. If not it's 5.99 hourly lol
Nah, Rockstar milks their games with microtransactions.
People are realistically going to pay that to buy a console to play GTA 6
It's a shit game in the first place. Bought it years ago and regreted it after trying out. Full of cheaters and sweats. Had a bad time and it was not fun. Shame i couldnt get a refund. Fuck the devs for that.
Edit: lesson learnt to buy games on steam so you at least can get a refund.
cool story, little tyke
True. I've played it on-off since 2018. These days you don't stand a chance as a new player. Literally the only players you face are either cheaters or 10 000h gametime sweats.
So if someone is tempted to buy this, do not. You will not have a good time, unless you want to dedicate your life to playing fucking Tarkov of all things.
it´s a russian special selfdestruct operation, not a special edition
I would easily pay 70$ for a PvE version of tarkov, but 250?! How the fuck do they justify that?
Not the person I expected to see say something about this, but before I even watch I can tell you, I am very pleased 😂
One great point is “how many more unique features we will get?”
EoD owner for 6 years - nothing surprises me with BSG anymore but this "Unhinged" Edition was a genuine shock. I'm glad they're taking a hammering because it's disgusting and they took us for fools. Haven't even downloaded the latest patch, won't be playing the game again.
Because its "unheard of" to ask this much
lol yeah
Don’t tell us how to think. Pricing is not right.
They should be sued, because otherwise it will set a precedent.
Basically, they are making it so that "DLC Season pass that unlocks all future content" is not a season pass, when you just don't call the new content a DLC but "a feature", so no it's not covered.
250?! I'd rather donate it to team cherry or supergiant game.
The classic Angry Joe rant you can hear from a thousand miles away of “YOU DONE F@%KED IT UP”
I'd only recommend the SPT AKI mod, It made this game fully offline (for free) and is a lot more fun than online PVP.. Get the cheapest standard edition then download SPT AKI, anything else is pointless..
They updated saying EOD owners would get free access to PVE when the game is released..
Its been in beta for 8 years.
Activision already taking notes and cod 2025 got a single player campaign for 300$
And the unheard edition is actually 330$ with taxes, not 250$😂😂
The 150$ page original said "all future dlc including Arena" so its even worse
Oh that's right they edited it live while someone was streaming the TOS didn't they? XD
i imagine theyre trying to get what they cab before they die, tarkov is old news and grey zone looks to overtake it
The only explanation that makes sense imo: High attention to details makes development prohibitively expensive.
Thank you for standing with us Joe!
I can’t wait to get “The private unique unheard mode 2.0 edition” for 650$ where I get private offline undercover secret mode
You can spend $250 on so much more.
You could
A. Use it for a overpriced mode in a game that'll be dead in a few years because games eventually end
Or
B. Do literally anything else
Ok that’s it - no more support for the developers. Back to piracy like 35 years ago when I was a kid.
I used to pirate games before also, and at this stage I might start again!
I've been pirating from the shit companies for years. Fuck em. I buy games from indie developers and companies that deserve my money.
35 years? Does internet exist? 😅
@@izzuddinmnasir4884 What does that have to do with it? You know there existed games in the 80s nad 90s before the internet?
Ikr we need to stop supporting indie devs who actually give a shit, we should pirate their games.
Thank goodness there is actually an Offline Escape from Tarkov. It's called Road of Vostok. Although it's still on demo, still looks promising.
I was totally expecting an "AHYOU OUTAYA MIIND ?!?!" intro, but witnessing Joe slowly descending into desperate madness is much better , I must admit :)
To be fair Godzilla ps4 goes for 400 plus but at least that because it didn’t get an official release for america and they do have a version where the game is in English it’s basically limited to whoever managed to get an English copy and the rest of the copies you can get you have to order from Japan with no English subtitles
Who tf did they hire for pricing consultance? An EA man?
I was hardcore into Tarkov. I still love it so much. Dealing with BSG feels like they need the cheaters to continue buying accounts. Fuck you, gimme money. I have 1500 hours in this game and purchased EOD. I quit back in January and have since played 3 matches and all included cheaters and my death. Hatchet machine guns. Anyway for this BSG should go under. They're crooks.
Its unheard edition because its previously been unheard of that a developer would stoop this low
i love the backstabbing for people who paid $150. there is no better way to discourage those kind of people than backstabbing them at every chance you get. now i would like to see the people who do pay 250 get a well deserved backstab.
The unheard of edition is literally UNHEARD OF WITH THIS CRAZY PRICING
$15 for Incursion Red River, early access SP Tarkov. Needs more attention.
How come Joe's channel is stuck at 3,29 Million subscribers since like forever? This channel is great, is YT capping the sub numbers?
I was never really into Escape on Tarkov but after seeing the price for this unheard edition i believe this takes the first spot behind star wars outlaws ultimate edition price
I purchased EoD years ago... I don't even play online anymore thanks to mods.
250 dollars "FOR BLUE? FOR BLUE NAME TAG??"
its not 250 usd, its 330 actually. for some reason they dont include tax, which every other developer does.
