Here’s my experience with videogames and my parents growing up. My mom didn’t mind videogames as long as I did my chores and homework. My father didn’t like them at all. He too said they would make me violent. (The only videogame I ever wanted to play when I was a kid was the original StarWars battle front 2 game) for every 30 minutes of play videogames, my father would make me practice hours of instruments. When I had friends over, we weren’t allowed to go outside or play videogames. He would make us sit down and play instruments. I stopped having my friends over because they wouldn’t want to come over anymore and I was embarrassed to ask them to come over because they were always forced to play instruments. When I was 13 my dad took my Xbox 360 away from me. After that our relationship never got better. My dad would lash out and get violent when he was angry (me being on the receiving end of it even years before he took my Xbox). When I turned 16 and got my first job I bought a new Xbox 360. But I never played at home or told my dad. I only played at friends house. Even when my father thought I wasn’t playing videogames, he was the one that would get violent not me. A year later after I bought my new Xbox my mom died of cancer. Playing Xbox with friends was my escape from my reality. A time that I could forget I didn’t have a mom my senior year of high school. And had a father who didn’t understand his son and only wanted control over my life. Here I am present day 22 years old taking responsibility for myself. Paying my own bills and taking care of my younger sisters who are still in school. I still live in my dads house but not for long lol. Working on my passion and career for I.T and yes... still playing videogames. So I would like to ask this woman. Who’s the mor violent person: my father who’s never played a single videogame in his life and has given me black eyes forcing me to stay home from school so the school doesn’t find out? Or me? The person despite all I’ve been through, has never once thought of shooting up my school or enacting revenge on my father? I hope the answer is obvious. Blame mental health and bad parenting, not videogames.
Sorry for what happened to you, especially your mom (no meme intended) With a dad who is fine with violence and plays stuff like fortnite and cod himself I really can't imagine what you had to go thru

Mom: No, the internet is dangerous and there are predators online you will give out our adress.
Imagine your kids throwing tantrums and you just standing there and thinking "yeah this isn't the fault of me not raising them properly, must be the videogames"
@@TheGamingShogun well yeah you got a point sometimes its a mental illness or a serious issue but most of the cases, its the parents not building trust with their children Edit:spelling
Strict parents are the reason kids act out. If a parent is too strict, their kids are more likely to become drug addicts, alcoholic, or ingrained in the very things the parents banned. My parents give me and my sister a lot of freedom. Guess what? We don’t drink, do drugs, or do other things that strict parents hate so much. That kind of parenting is going to ruin the lives of their kids.
Exactly. If I wanted to play on my consoles all day I can do it. I have the freedom to do it. But I don't do it because : 1. I know self moderation 2. I can pick a controller at a later moment and have the round then
My dad is kinda strict but I’m fine because I want to be an NFL player so he has me play less video games and exercise more and tries to get my bones stronger so I don’t have an injury and he also wants me to have good mental health too
"You don't know what it's like to raise 4 children" She doesn't know what it's like to run a youtube channel and says it's easy... Don't contradict yourself 2 sentences later
It's like calling a situation where a malnourished child goes to a bakery and acting frantically in front of confectionery "an act of hysteria!" Or flipping the narrative and making the victim a perpetrator and vice versa and justifying it as "[victim] was acting violently in response to [insert a genuine complaint the victim is righteously suffering from] due to [rephrase same complant but in a demonizing connotation, along the lines of (simply voicing his complaint enragedly made him a violent individual)]! Something media excels at. Like (an [underpaid is redacted] employee files a case against his boss due to lack of justice in not being treated the same as other employees, ensuing protests and refraining from work at the company.] You can see whole sentence relies on redacting (underpaid) for the whole (flipping the picture upsidedown) deception to work. Even with, suffocating the victim until he has no more patience to keep his cool, and waiting until he acts slightly inconveniently or gathers a bit of attention, and then jump on him at that moment is one of the worst manipulation tactics I can think of! It makes my blood boil.

Actually there is a scientifically proven correlation between aggression and violent video games/tv... though, because it’s a correlation, it doesn’t’t necessarily account for other causes of aggressive behavior and it doesn’t even determine that one cause the other, only that the two are statistically linked.
It’s the parents faults nowadays these parents get annoyed by their children so what do they do o here you go sweetheart they give them the phone whatever device and think their job is done they don’t monitor them and don’t even take time to find out if their child has anything wrong in their lives

I have a nice dad : ) Me happy ( sorry for what happened to you)
The two things i did when my friends were over is we would either go outside or, you guessed it! Play video games!
Why instruments1?
My dad used to play cod before 2000 so he doesn't have a problem with violence, but he is really not a fun of overuse

Something media excels at.
