Leafs should trade Robertson to Utah for J. Mcbain. Leafs need a Mcbain type forward. Maybe try throw in Liljegren for M. Kesselring
Once he said he wanted out thats it you can't keep him you have to be 100% committed to the leaf and willing to sacrifice any and all for lord Stanley's cup even if it's one minute of playing time every game you play that one minute balls out to the max
Under sized player who can't play in the neutral zone or D zone. No interests for him around the league.
He's hungry and has moments where he looks very great. His brother has some shining moments as well. I would have tried him in a bigger role this season under this new Coach.

Such a great player he can’t stay in the lineup when he’s healthy… as infrequently as that is. So great other teams are unwilling to offer sheet him. So great.
Honestly I thought he played better than jarnkrok offensively but not defensively
Hardly that important, he has had chances,cant stay healthy, has a poor attitude, just move him, leafs will not miss him and they have plenty of young guys who can step into his place, they may not have such a good shot, and score as much but they know where their own end is, something Robertson has failed to learn.
I think it would be a mistake to let Robertson move on when we have not seen what the complete Berube - Robertson connection might be !! What he has accomplished in limited ice time cannot be discounted !!!

Robertson, a decent sniper, seems like the type that needs a playmaker and a F1 forechecker on his line. No physical game, not good defensively. His best bet would be aiming to join a bottom-10 team.
Robertson has ben given all the opportunity he needed. Bobby McMann and Holmberg past him with hard work. Robertson hasnt earned it PERIOD
Send him to SanJose for a pick , he would be a great fit with that young team .
An offer sheet for Robertson makes zero sense if he wants to force a trade. The team trying to get him either has to make him an offer that we won't be able or willing to match which drives up the cost for them both in salary and compensation (instead of just trading for him), and if they don't do that, then the Leafs could just match the offer which locks him into a situation he's trying to get out of.
Trade that small, injury plagued forward already.
He plays like a never was beer leaguer.
Sign a contract and see what you can do under Berube
The Leafs qualified Robertson, so with no arb rights, he has zero leverage. His only option is to sit out. I can't begin to opine what a poor tactical decision Robertson is making. He's only 22 & injuries, together with covid shut-downs have impeded his growth. I think he's an NHL level player, so sign a 1 year deal & show the league what your value is, as sitting only hurts you, not Toronto.
can't have it both ways where the value is low but don't want to trade because of potential he's good on another team.

He hasn't been giving the opportunity because 90% of the time he was injured. Plus he screwed up all the time when on the ice. Do I like him yes. Can he get better yes. But his attitude sucks so trade him or wait till someone offer sheets him and we take the pick

27 points and +\- 4 this is why he hasn’t gotten a better chance up the lineup. If he can’t defend 3rd or 4th line forwards how is he going to defend Crosby, ovechkin, mcdavid.. etc he needs to play better 200 foot game or at least show signs of improvement
He's a good player but honestly he's got a new coach that doesn't have the hate on for him he shouldn't have done this his biggest problem was is staying healthy so if anybody he needs to literally take a step backwards probably f****** apologize to the team excuse my language
Tuck your pride in your pocket and yes see if you can win over the new coach if he thought Sheldon Keefe was tough on him who know I don't think is a good coach but Craig is Craig Rubio was all so loved as a leaf and a tough as nails freaking player that would have probably been told the same thing back when he played a no-nonsense type and that's exactly the type of coach he is
So it's like if you want your spot if you want more ice time earn it stay healthy put on a little bit of size and yeah stop freaking complaining kid and go out there and prove yourself

Stop calling Robertson a great player. He's above average offensive player and poor defense player...and not strong on his skates.

Last season Robertson was 2nd in goals/60 (5v5) on maple leafs (only behind Matthews) and 4th in points/60 (5v5) ahead of players like Nylander and Tavares, despite mostly playing on 3rd and 4th line. Sure, he has things he need to learn defensively, but we said the same thing about Nylander only a few years ago. As far as I'm concerned he has 1st line potential, but obviously also a lot he needs to learn and it's not a sure bet he'll ever be decent defensively. His "trade request" has made things seriously awkward though and there's a risk a lot of teams will view him as a potential locker room problem more than as an asset.

This guy is a defensive liability , there is a reason he isnt trusted….its because he cant be trusted. If he doesnt sign he sits, and how does that help his development ? He needs to be smarter than that.
