When we need to generate more force, repetitive stimulation of same motor unit occurs. This causes tetanus and hence more force generation. What are the other ways which body uses to increase the force generation ?
Watch this video may be you will get an idea :
ua-cam.com/video/HfCfE2NNvFg/v-deo.html
nice explanation, it is worth mentioning that , AC voltage/current in many countries operates at 50Hz which would cause complete tetanus of the flexors at thus "cant let go phenomenon" ..
For stimulation, DC voltage is used
Amazing explanation! Thank you
Thanks 😊❤️
How long tetenus last is there end if we keep on stimulating
It will fatigue after some time
@@PhysiologyOpen if 50hz give and we see tetanus for 20min now i give 100hz will it last for 40min or same 20min
@@PhysiologyOpen also mam two z disk come close to each other they pull the z disk to their center but same way adjusent disk pull the z disk to their center so there will be now muscle fiber shortning ...mam
But if the length is fixed…this force of pulling is transmitted to tendons and surface rather than actually allowing shortening
If you give more frequency of stimulation, force generated will be more and fatigue will be faster so it will last less than 20 minutes
