Great video on how NOT to use a jointer. No guard, hands directly on the wood with pressure on the infeed table. You could see the board flop down as he was joining. Plus, the knives sounded dull.

+Jacob Nadelin Jacob, you're absolutely correct. Equipment Hub guy has a guard there on the Felder jointer but he doesn't use it. Nor does he even use push pads or any other safety devices. The reach over the table made me wince, especially when the board on the outfeed teetered. The outfeed height looks like it's not even adjusted properly. If Equipment Hub is going to demo its products for sale, it should at least do it showing its product in a safe way. Maybe this guy actually WANTS to pull a Carlos Osorio (I'm-so-smart-I-don't-need-no-stinkin'-safety-equipment) and whack off a few fingers and then sue for a $million and a half or so.
+Jacob Nadelin Since you brought it up. I lost half my finger on a 6" doing the exact same thing.
Felder have a an auto feed mechanism on many of their machines, it would be a good idea to put one on the jointer too.

It would have taken no time to guard the cutters! Please use all the available machine guarding. If there was no guard when used to face & edge timber, then the machine should not be used.

Sorry gents this is a poor video. Where's the rest of the extraction port? Felder insists these machines are run with extraction that's not possible with this. Use the crown guard might just mean you keep your fingers. And I trust the safety features of the machine the on of switch lock and the stop button will be repaired before this machine is sold? I'm looking for this exact model machine but if this is an example of a good second hand one I might have to steer clear

What a shocking demo, this should be removed on safety grounds. I am sure it's a nice bit of kit but not with fingers flying out the extract port!!

Irresponsible is the word I'd use for this demo. Not only was the operator showing unsafe jointing operation (the bridge guard Felder's designed provides for safe operation... but, duh, you've got to set it into place!) but incorrect jointing procedures as well. Further, don't they have a dust collector in their showroom?! Get with it, guys.

What an Amateur. Why is the fence all the way back, why is the guard not pushed in...and why push down on the infeed Table? Cant even replace the stop Button. If thats the Kind of "professionals" you have in your Shop, goodnight.
