This whole process is so unsustainable! So much energy, so much human time and space.

Great news, BUT the Elephant in the room is the single use plastic bags you keep the Mycelium in. The Molds are not too bad as they can be reused an almost infinite amount of times, perhaps that’s the way to go with the single use, is to store all your Mycelium in Plastic containers instead of bags?. But an eco solution to you using single use plastic need to be found asap, or you are still a part of the problem to a degree, but stil are!

@G. Dave3 i agree but can we also agree that this is a great start, and maybe they aren't using single use plastic, maybe they are using plant based plastic. What ever the case, at least this company is starting to use human based technology and bio-technology for a better world and to show you can make money off of it?

Biodegradable is not the same as compostable....Have they done any long term studies about how good this stuff actually is for the soil?

    • @mikeaskme3530

@Gem Indigo, true but this company does not use any chemicals, so it is completely biodegradable and compostable, it is great that you pointed the difference out though.

Lol, what if they find out that this mycelium isn’t good for environments that it isn’t native to and ends up killing a bunch of forests.

@Considering Orthodoxy, i dont think that is a issue because people travel and we travel long distance, so if we look at the earliest humans traveling, they have always taken the parent mycelium from the original location into different areas. mycelium is in the soil structure that does help mushrooms grow.
