I'm a Brahmin and none of my class mates even knew I'm a Brahmin, except for my closest friends. Once a friend in a drunk state tried to force feed non veg which I politely refused. That is when my close friends informed him in a Brahmin and that guy was surprised. This was during my final year.

Not everyone is like that. My friend (Tambrahm) is the first one to keep hands on my plate if I have vegetarian food. Obviously, they feel garlic annoying because it is mostly used in non-veg food so they try to avoid it. I am not bhramin but I respect everyone. I've personally seen many racist friends who happen to be Brahmins. In my clinic work place a Brahmin lady (She was a retired IAS officer) who proudly boasted that she'd never get any treatment from doctors of SC/ST community. That was my wake up call as she thought that I was a Brahmin doctor because I worked under a reputed doctor. My fair skin and English fluency made her think that way.
I'm not blaming all Brahmins but if you follow Sanatana dharma / Brahminism then go read your scriptures and tell me that those practices aren't racist. It's prevalent in many Brahmin households even today. You may not practise that and that's good but people aren't generalising Brahmins for the action of few. It's more prevalent than you think.
