The N97, like in the Blackview MP80, may be a bit better for emulation as the GPU runs at a higher clock speed. Intel's numbering scheme is incredibly confusing at this tier. Also you may want to check out if the BIOS on this N100 is locked. You may be able to improve performance. All the best from bonnie Scotland. 👍
This looked like it came with a 35 watt power supply. So even if the bios is unlocked, turning the TDP up would probably be a no-go because of the weak power supply.
@@jimbotron70Like all the cheaper intel miniboxes of the last few years it is indeed lacking some usefull gpu power. Almost no progress on that front. So qualifications as 'Amazing' annoy me in youtube reviews.
@@erikkarsies4851Thing is, for emulation you do not need a powerful GPU unless you start upping the rendering resolution. Rendering older emulated 3D games is an easy task even for chips like this.
No mini PC will really run modern high demand games, but your best bet to be able to play slightly older stuff, or modern less demanding stuff, is to get something with an AMD chip like a 5800 or 7735hs or 7840hs as, generally speaking, the inbuilt GPU in the current AMD CPU's are significantly better than a similar priced Intel CPU. I have a Beelink Ser7 that can play a pretty decent amount of stuff.
@@AusKipper1 At 3 to 4 times the price...If only I had money to waste... Ser7 does looks reallllly nice tho. Does all and then some, id want my ideal mini-pc to do...
@@voddermucker5502Yeah, a 7840 will be pretty pricey, but a 5800 mini pc will smoke an N100 for about 40% more $$. Depends what you need. I also have an N100 mini PC that plays everything up to PS2/Original XBox without too many issues and was $180 or something.
So I have one of those 3 TB hard drives and this PC but I can not get anything to play correctly. Everything, including NES, stutters or plays incorrectly. Any ideas what I need to do different?
@@WickedGamerCollector Thanks. Unfortunately it's very hard to find information on this. What I've been able to gather is that even if the chipset support this, the manufacturer still needs to implement something (possibly paying a very small licensing fee) in order to make it work.
@@WickedGamerCollector Thanks! It works. Unfortunately Prime Video won't output 4K on PC because Amazon purposely disabled it, but 4K Netflix works fine.

many low power systems can emulate playstation 1, there are not many emulation boxes that can run sega saturn, its like the crysis of emu boxes. @@jimbotron70

Emulation is the way to go.

'Cheap but Underpowered' I've searched some comparing videos on youtube for the UHD 730. Both the 5600G and the 1030GT eat this one for breakfast.
Obviously
Its cpu is rather nice, it lacks a powerful gpu.

What Mini PC would you recommend that can run modern games on Steam? Not a bad price, the 16gb ram one is about $199

I got a beelink ser5 with a 5560u for $230 on Amazon. That's probably the sweat spot.
Another Wicked day
Can I play most of PS2 catalog? Some of my favorite games on there.
With the N100 it is possible to play most PS2 games now.
However I would go for an older AMD 5xxx Ryzen.
Not bad for the MSRP. But, being that this is an integrated CPU+GPU, it could use 16Gb RAM.
@@Daduz_75Yes, but it is DDR5 which has a higher bandwidth than DDR4 I think. 🤔

How is the game with two controllers?
Will this allow 4k Netflix or Prime Video over HDMI? Eg. is it HDCP 2.2 compatible?
Windows based so I would not know if there is any problem with that. Android and rooted that is a problem itself.

Some of the cheap pc's you are stuck with the ram. Or they just have single slot.
