That was a fun update Frank! Thanks for including the CLEAN By Pan 3-YEAR Ceramic Coating in this test! I smile every time I see its hydrophobic properties!
Thank you Jalem, I'll have an update around March for sure, washed it last week through filiming a pre-wash and it's still like day 1. We'll let them dwell a little bit! cheeers
Great intro, showing our Canadian reality. Looks like Pan has something going on. Haven’t tried it yet. So far I’m super happy and impressed with DIY. My favourite is the 5 year. If budget allows the C6 Hydro is above next level. Looking forward to your content in 2025. Happy New Year.
Great comparison, and for entertainment sake also a joy. I feel like Pans is the best due to price, strength and water phobic properties. So impressive and I appreciate how open you've been to his products.
Great video Frank, looking forward to the follow-up videos after the harsh Canadian winters. I live in New England and can somewhat relate. Great options. I hope the Bola can back up their claims, that is a mighty hefty price tag for it. Happy New Year!
Echoing the comments already posted here by many of my fellow Canadians, it will be interesting to see what the results in March/April look like after an entire winter of exposure to our harsh Eastern Canadian winter and the chemicals used on the roads. I'll reserve my judgement until then. Thanks for the update Frank, Happy New Year.
Wise answer Sas! You'll definitely get an update in March, I washed it last week during a shoot on pre-washes, it's still like day 1, demonstrated it on a my IG. Talk soon
I went with Adam's 10h Graphene Ceramic coating. Have had it on my C8 1 year and the results are amazing. The water beading and drying is awesome. Takes a little longer to apply but worth it for longer years of protection. Claim is 9 years, if I get 6 I consider that a great win.
Hi Frank! These coatings say they last 3 years but I'm supposed to add toppers etc. I thought if I spent the money for a 3 year coating I'd be done for maybe 2 or 3 years except for washing. How's a coating any better than just using something like a Geon Wet Coat or Tech 582 ceramic detail spray or similar after every weekly wash? I look forward to watching your videos!
Hey Dave thanks for watching. Toppers dont have to be used all the time, DIY and Clean dont push them at all. I personally use a drying aid because I enjoy it but that doesnt hold more than 1 wash or 2. A true quality ceramic will add some self cleaning properties more than a sealant would, then the water hydrophobics are much better with real coatings. Easier to blow off when drying. With sealants you always have parts of the car where it's weak and not performing well, a coating will serve you better in general.
I have a question on these types of comparisons. Doesn't the location that the coating is applied to affect their performance? Won't a coating applied behind the front wheels or rear wheel have a harder life than one applies to the rear doors or hood. What I would love to see is a car done in half, each side coated with a different coating. I know this would limit it to two coatings but would be a much more accurate comparison of two coatings
Hello Brian excellent point btw, I thought about it but with polishing and time constraint I decided this way was easier for me, they are not 100% real comparable products but I have DIY 3 year the easier spot for sure since it's a entry level. 3 panel preps, 3 coatings and 3 applicators and all was getting mind sucking but in a futur test I'll schedule more time to make it perfect.
Hey Mike, at the time of this video I was experimenting with a new camera and realize I had to change this setting. It feels weird indeed. It's fixed now. Thank you for pointing this out
Love your channel it's very enjoyable and informative BUT you shouldn't really use the wash mitt on the lower areas of the car as well as the upper areas and i didn't see you switch the sides off your wash mitt nor that you were using any grit guard of any kind you really should use multiple wash mitts for separate areas of the car, also you didn't say what ceramic coatings you used on the bonnet (hood) nor on the front wings and bumper?
Hello Nick thanks for your kind words and feedback. I use 8 wash mitt, 2 sided, one side per panel pretty much! Through the edits it might not be noticeable but yes I religiously wash with those things in mind, this is a daily driver but the paint is as good as I can keep it. The car wasnt really dirt it was 10 days after the coating application. Check the video 2 in weeks it's about pre-washing you'll see how my car get dirty my process has evolved over the years. To keep it simple and maxium clarity for people I didnt talk about other panels but hood and front fender are gyeon pure evo, roof, front bumper is Pan 3 year and trunk lid.

How does Gyeon MOHS compare to this DIY and CLEAN coating?
It's too early to tell but MOHS Evo can go through canadian winters for sure, watch my Telsa Detail 14months update. Thx
