Best climbing stand out there. Have been using mine for over a decade, close to twenty years. The only issue I have with mine compared to the new one is that it is nine pounds heavier, mine weighs 20.10 lbs. They must be using some new alloy material for the platforms. The old stand has female connecting clips attached to either side of the top platform to connect the straps from the bottom platform.
I’m a climber guy, used multiple climbers over the past 20 years. I’ve never had a saddle setup but I can’t imagine a saddle and sticks being faster than a climber. Also at 11lbs it’s lighter than a saddle setup.
I agree, and saddle hunting seems like a lot of work, lol can't imagine doing that when it's 85 degrees. And all the gadgets you need, lot of room for error. That's just how I see it from my couch watching UA-cam videos lol
The stand is awesome - you also need to make sure you don't loosen the 'key' too much or you could lose that as well.. Just things you learn as you go... The seat is surprisingly comfy - I took my sit bar off too.
I like the stand I wish they would make a xl one for guys and gals that are over 250 but it sounds like they are not I hate when people come out with stuff aimed at one group
I wish they could make one as comfy as my old viper summit but that weighs alot less..It's big and bulky but man is it comfy..I call it my lay z boy in the sky and I sit sunrise to sunset .. Great review
Nice review, and Lone Wolf does make good stuff, but you have to do a review on hunting seats too, especially the Ground Effect hunting seat by 03 Outfitters. Us older folks don't climb trees too much anymore.
@@N1outdoors I contacted 03 Outfitters and they should be getting ahold of you in the near future. Hopefully you'll get to do a review. They make an awesome seat.
Just ordered one, thanks for the video. Been using the original sit & climb- never thought it could be improved. I can't believe I paid this much (ouch!), but this may be worth it.
@underdogoutdoors good to know, thank you, yes I was wondering about it being a bit small, I was thinking another pound of weight wouldn't hurt for a few inches of platform lol...happy hunting.
Climbers have always been and will always be better than any other climbing method. Ive run saddles and regular hang and hunt setups. Neither are as light or as "all in one" as this light weight climber. I hope the industry competes with LW and we see similar cheaper priced items.
for $1,000 this climber shouldn't be leaving the warehouse until each one has been tested and gotten through quality control. I'm not paying a 1000 for a climber and worry about quality control. I want to get this badly but the minor issues and the price is now a problem. They should also make a cover for the teeth. I may still pull the trigger but im skeptical now.

Okay I have to comment on this. First off, I used The lone Wolf sit and climb back in the early 2000s. Yes it was light. Yes it packed well. But it left a lot to be desired as far as comfort, unless you wanted to stand most of the day. Even still the seat was practical. You're demonstrating the stand 6 ft off the ground. Your platform is already leaning and I'm sorry but $1,000 for that chintzsy seat is absolutely ridiculous. Now you give me a saddle and four sticks or a one stick and I can climb any tree I want. I'm stable and I at least have somewhere to sit my butt when my legs are fatigued. I would pack in a summit mini viper any day of the week over this overpriced, bougie climber that is more suited to people with 30-in waistlines. But I have to thank you for the video because it's folks like you and demos like this that convince me beyond the shadow of a doubt that lone Wolf climbers are not for me anymore. They do have some nice stuff. I'll give them that and they have done a far better job with the teeth. But come on lone Wolf. shave weight from the foot climber but give a man a decent and functional place to sit.

It’s incredible how light this stand is.

It really is a well-designed Stand. Thanks for watching!
The strap cable on the hands climber portion is opposite of the standing platform. Crazy build.
Wonderful review! Saved me a grand ! You looked like 10 pounds of feed in a 5 pound sack in that stand , no need for my big ass to order one .

Crazy light and slim profile. I never had any issues with mine this past fall.
It’s strange to think that the old Lone Wolf hand climber now seems “heavy!” 🤣

Yes, it's hard to beat the comfort of those Summit stands!
Excellent review!

Glad you bought it?
@@krisalan5327 It's a little small, but very quiet, light & easy to use, superior to the original. So far, yes, glad to have it.

Looks nice - definitely think the original hand climber seat was fine and looks better than this.
The original seat does work well. This seat seems to just eliminate some extra weight. Thank you for watching!

Looks like you have the strap on the top half of the stand that goes around the tree backwards.
That’s actually how it’s designed on this new stand. We thought it was strange as well.
When the builder building this stands, he is very sleepy and building it wrong. It will be very slippery for sure.
Maybe a little felt where the stand sticks together as you loosen the key
That’s what we ended up doing and it works fairly well.
Mine has a problem with the screws on the platform too.
Contact them and they will address👍

Can you tell me what the four extra straps on the back pack straps are for ? two on top and two on the bottom with loops on the ends thanks
Not exactly sure. Probably just for other gear.
Great review! What kind of bow holder are you using? It looks like it folds out of the way nicely.
It’s actually the one that you can purchase directly from Lone Wolf. It is definitely slick. Thanks for watching!

I have an older lone wolf , wish i could justify 999 dollars for a new one but theres just no way
The old Hand Climber is tough to beat!
You might want to take a turpentine cup to attach to the base of the tree when you leave. Man those teeth are serious.
They are scary sharp!
For $1k there should be zero squeaks while climbing.
It's not the best stand.
