Hi! Person living in Greece here. Kore (pronounced kori), is actually associated with goddess Persephone:) (its how they depicted her, basically) because, she is linked to the "maiden" archetype, and you can see her statues in many museums with that specific hair. So, in Greece, the specific statues you have included in the video are statues of Kore-Persephone.
I loved this! You look like a Queen when it's all done! Just missing a crown or tiara! I loved seeing the sculptures and hearing the history of the style. Well done.
YES!!! I am so excited for this hair series! And this conveniently comes at a time where I want to start wearing my hair more elegantly! Can’t wait for more vids and I’ll definitely be wearing this style at my next trip to the grocery store 👍
I'm one of those newbies who found your channel after the first season of Hair History and let me tell you I am so excited for this series! Suuuuuch a good first episode
I love the re-visit. Your original series was well done, but in giving yourself more of a chance to focus on details that may have been missed, you are adding depth and richness to your existing work. Well done and I hope this gets the recognition it deserves!
Yay, yay, yay!! I can’t wait to see these lovely videos again! Would you consider adding dates to the pictures you show? I want to look up everything you’re talking about! ❤️
Good luck on your hair history videos! Thanks for doing a Pattern Review on the Pippa Wrap Dress! 😊 Really liked the vintage hairstyle tutorial you just did. Your vids are so cute and conversational! ❤
I am so excited to see the return of this series. I loved your original hair history series. I think I've watched the 18th century video a dozen times.
Great video! I personally would love to see an accurate historical hair tutorial for each hairstyle, since there weren't hair elastics during the ancient greece and roman period.
I understand! It would be very interesting to see the styles as they were done back then. I've decided against demonstrating historically accurate hair styling methods in this series though, for various reasons: 1. Very often we just don't know how exactly certain styles were achieved, or the things we do know are very fragmented 2. Where we do know how styles were achieved, they often involve use of specific tools and products that I don't have access to 3. Many of the products I do have access to are animal-derived, and I don't want to purchase/use/promote animal products (big one) 4. I want the tutorials to be accessible and easy to recreate with tools and products people are likely to already own Hope that makes sense! 😁
Very, very nice indeed. I really like this style, it looks good on you and I suspect would look good on most people with long hair. Thank you, think I'll try it with my daughter who has really long hair.
Simply beautiful. Stunningly accurate and almost “ Biblical “ looking . I love how you are “ re-doing “ hair history. I was wondering since you took “ Celtic “ studies at University, that you’d maybe take a crack at the Celtic Knot or braiding from the time of Isolde and Tristan . I’d love to see that .
Really lovely and a well done overview of the hairstyles. I just wanted to note that it would be helpful if you provided (approximate) dates for the sculptures depicted. The korai are minimum 500 years older than some of the Roman sculptures depicted, which I think is very important to consider when investigating these hairstyles. Perhaps something you can include in later videos :)
Can you please try reproducing the hairstyle of Hekate? There is this triple statue that has hairstyles so it might be possible to reproduce the hairstyle from the statue
@@KateandBree ended up missing that tidbit when I ordered. Truth be told, glad it works for others.. I'm using it because it costs a butt ton for a tiny bottle, but definitely not for me.
@@KarinaDoRego That's not a tiny bottle. It's actually bigger than my Prose bottle (which is 8.5 fl ounces.) I use half the amount I used when using drugstore or even other premium brands. 8.5 fl oz lasts 3 months. If you're going through a gigantic 1 or 2 liter bottle in 3-6 months, you're washing your hair incorrectly.
@@KateandBree 8 Oz for each bottle and costing $60 is a tiny bottle. I would rather keep my biolage which has far more and lasts me far longer for half the cost.
I don’t see how you would describe the hair on these statues other then braids. They’re obviously braids. If I may be so bold I think you’re afraid to say braids as to not upset certain people. Give facts. Don’t worry about how petty people behave. Don’t let it get in the way of sharing facts and the fact of the matter is that these statues have their hair in braids. If you want to revamp the series, then don’t feel like you have to walk on eggshells

Thankyou. This is really useful for me. I wonder what hairstyle was associated with the crone archetype

I've tried Janet Stephens' sewing method a few times, it can be done even on yourself and it's very comfortable to wear.

It's like a tiara made of hair.
The pattern on your shirt is so cool where did you get it? :U -love the video
OMG EXCITING
I enjoyed it
Hey Lucie, what was your degree in? Mine was in history so I’m stoked for this series!
Celtic studies! Medieval Celtic philology, basically :)
@@Loepsie well damn that’s cool af! I wanted to do Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic studies but I’m nowhere near studious enough for Cambridge 😂

Why do I think this hairstyle will be popular? 🙂
I need to purchase good hair extensions. Where and what do you recommend?
omg yesss!!!!!

Hi
Sadly, the function of beauty is $60 of you're not subscribing. The code took nothing off. :(
Of course it takes nothing off if you’re not subscribing. The code is for subscription. That’s how Function of Beauty works.

It would be nice if you addressed your viewers as something other than "guys". Not everyone is male.
