scott robenson has very good tutorials on drawing cars ... will explain all of that ... it has to do with perspective lines and ellipses which form shape of the wheels
while drawing you were having any reference in front you?? because i am try a lot to sketch from the really life car and from the car images but not getting design proper...what shall i do for the exact copy the car in image and in real life???

yyyy2999 I might be wrong but I believe it just helps to set the eye level to nail down the perspective consistently.
