  • The Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi is one of India's most famous locations. And there is a secret to why it is so. In this video, Swami Nirmalananda shares a story told to him by someone who himself had seen both Mahavatar Babaji and Babaji's sister at this holy place. This ghat is mentioned in Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi" because of its association with Babaji.

❤Nice Channel. Thank you for all your effort in setting this up.❤ If you want to know who Babaji really is then read the autobiography of Pilot Baba. He met him and his twin sister. And what he tells is amazing.

I'm sure you've been to Trailanga Swami's home there... that was so powerful to sit in. It really spun me out! Thank you for sharing your experience of Mataji. I felt so blessed praying to her and also going to Ma's ashram. Such a wonderful place, so amazing!
I was very drawn to a statue in one of the shops there. My friend said the shopkeeper was asking too much. I think it is a statue of Radha but she doesn't have arms (they must have been knocked off). She's about 2' tall. I told the shopkeeper I would think about it. We had passed the stage on our pilgrimage where we would accept the cost of something as often we found it cheaper somewhere else. Everything seemed cheap to us at the time because the exchange rate was so good. Anyway, I got all the way back to our hotel and realized he was only asking $7. I got out of the saving a rupee part of my brain. I got on a bus, got out by the Varanasi bazaar, and marched straight to the shop. I gave the shopkeeper the money and he gave me the beautiful statue. I asked him how long had the statue been there and he said since his great-grandfather owned the store. It felt like the statue had been waiting for me. I took her to the Ganges, parting the crowds on the way there chanting to Divine Mother, and gave her a ceremonial dip in the Ganges! It was a very special moment. I definitely felt Mataji Blessed. I still have the statue, forever blissfully smiling in the corner of our living room. Jai Ma! Jai Ma! Jai Ma!

It used to be bargaining was essential to the wise shopper, perhaps it still is. When foreigners were seen, rupee marks were also seen.

Although I have been to the Anandamayi Ashram, I have not had the opportunity to visit Trailanga Swami's home. You might be interested in stories about him here: ocoy.org/trailanga-swami/
