    The French guy talked about a previous illegal job, his mouth was far too big so they didn't trust him. If he told people about that job so easily he would talk about this one too, and if he talks about it so easy imagine how he would deal with the stress of a police interview or something.

    Better Call Saul is arguably a more intriguing show than Breaking Bad, though it’s impossible to choose. The show is a slow burn but it’s so worth it with each following season revealing more. The fact that Rhea Seehorn never won an Emmy is a travesty.

    • @kristoferj601

      The fact that Chuck didn't win Emmy is a sick joke

    • @baggybones
      @baggybones 8 годин тому +10

      The fact that no one on the show won anything, or the fact that even the show itself never won anything either is the biggest travesty ever and makes the Emmys in my eyes (at least the current version of it) meaningless.
      53 nominations or so, and not a single win. And I don't think they ever got nominated for cinematography, when this show is probably the best-looking show ever, especially S5 and S6. I don't think I've ever seen a show shot better than Better Call Saul.
      Lesser shows have won more while doing less (like GOT S8).

    I remember when I started BCS, I thought, "Aw, man, I thought I was getting a Saul Goodman show, I don't want Jimmy." But very quickly, the more I saw of Saul, the worse I felt. Because Saul (and the flash-forwards to Cinnabon) were the afterlife of this poor guy who just wanted to be a good, respected lawyer. I always knew Saul was a tragedy but to see it play out hurt.

    You make a great point that Geraldine’s death affected Jimmy more than Chuck’s death. It probably reminded him of when he had success on the straight path that Chuck never thought he could. I never realized that on my initial watch.

    The opening flashback in the second episode feels kinda sweet, but it's really another reminder that Jimmy never got into the law for *himself* despite having a talent for it. He did it to get closer with Kim and make Chuck proud/follow in his footsteps, when it's clear that he'd be way more at home in some kind of sales role in terms of becoming an "honest citizen".
    For as wild and chaotic as Jimmy can be with his tactics, you come to realize that one of his biggest flaws deep down is his inability to let certain things go. He couldn't truly walk away from Chuck after learning the truth, he can't quit the idea of him being a lawyer, etc.

    • @Wraiven22
      @Wraiven22 2 години тому

      Idk if I agree, Jimmy had many moments that show he’s an incredible lawyer. His problem is that he constantly uses it for selfish/wrong reasons.

      @@Wraiven22 Do you mean to say there are lawyers who use the law for charitable/right reasons? I think there's a term for those: unsuccessful. Kim, like the cake, is a lie.

    31:37 coming from a certified firefighter the lithium ion batteries in the phones are “fire hazzards” it only takes one bad battery to catch fire and its one of the hardest fires to stop, you just gotta let it burn out. Thats why when a car battery catches fire you just gotta throw it in a lake. Even that wont stop the fire but it keeps everything else around the car safe.

  • @TennSeven

    Yeah, her observations on that scene in the phone store are spot-on. It's the same reason why every time you go to a car dealership they tell you someone else has been looking at the car you're thinking about. They want to make you think demand is high so you'll rush to make the purchase.

    This answers the age old question of how Bond villains can build a rocket launching facility in a hollow volcano without anyone knowing about it. Though I suspect Blofeld had everyone killed when they were done.

  • @rockerfish223
    @rockerfish223 21 хвилина тому

    Gus probably found all those engineers through Peter Schuler, his business daddy at Madrigal. The French dude talked too much about a past illegal project, he rushed to take sloppy measurements, probably neglected to consider supporting the weight of the laundry from below, and he had a prior Cartel association. Gus doesn't want the Cartel finding out from their old loose-lipped French digger that he's working on his own production operation, he only let them find out on "Breaking Bad" once he became their sole source of distribution.

    So i think Gus' story about the animal is not to show how ruthless he is when it comes to business or whatever. Hector is special. Hector killed someone VERY special to Gus. The story is about how Gus never forgets a grudge. All of his other enemies, he has dispatched as efficiently as possible. But with Hector, he will take his time destroying him.

    The French guy seemed too confident and he also talked about a cartel job he did. Gus surely knew the guy's history and perhaps he was lying about the cartel tunnel, or more likely Gus knew the guy doesn't know how to keep a secret and didn't want him giving out any hints concerning the lab dig at some point down the road.
